For the last decade-plus we have been told the islands of the South Pacific are going to disappear due to global warming. Here’s a whole website devoted to the plight of Tuvalu. Ignore the fact that it hasn’t been updated since Nov. 20, 2010.
But what about the islands that are appearing? It sort of puts paid to the idea that “change” is a one-way street.
United Kingdom-based The Telegraph, yesterday, March 11, featured a nice story regarding the appearance of a new one-mile island off Tonga along with its exploration by Tonga residents Gianpiero Orbassano and Branko Sugar along with an unidentified friend.
Of course, maybe the island was there all along and is just moved around by some guy in its basement turning a giant wheel. No mention about any smoke monsters, though.
