USS Vesuvius William Lawrence Sr Omnibit 7-9-18

The United States Navy once had a ship with a giant air gun that shot dynamite bombs. She was the USS Vesuvius and served from 1890 to 1921. She only had her air gun battery until 1904, though. She was built at the William Cramp and Sons Shipyard in Philadelphia.
