Mann Gets Cover From PSU In Global Warming Scandal

Penn State has released a report regarding the claims that Dr. Michael Mann, who heads the university’s Penn State’s Earth System Science Center, did very dishonest things to convince the world that man-made activities were causing a catastrophic warming to Planet Earth.

PSU addressed the claims that Mann:
  1. Participated in fabrication, falsification, plagiarism or other practices that seriously deviate from accepted practices within the academic community for proposing, conducting, or reporting research or other scholarly activities
  2. Showed callous disregard for requirements that ensure the protection of researchers, human participants, or the public; or for ensuring the welfare of laboratory animals
  3. Failed to disclose significant financial and business interest as defined by Penn State Policy RA20, Individual Conflict of Interest
  4. Engaged in, directly or indirectly, any actions that seriously deviated from accepted practices within the academic community for conducting research or other scholarly activities?
The committee exonerated Mann on all allegations but the fourth about which it said further investigation was needed.
Mann came under fire after emails were leaked — the PSU board uses the word “purloined” — from the University of East Anglia’s Hadley Climatic Research Centre in the United Kingdom that showed leading climate researchers playing tricks with data and conspiring to stifle dissenters regarding the global warming catastrophe story.
Mann’s emails were among those released.
The most significant allegation was Number 1. That the Penn State review board couldn’t come to see that leaving out data points that would change the entire meaning of a graph goes way beyond “trying to construct an understandable graph for those who were not experts in the field” as per the PSU report indicates a serious decline in academic standards.

An ‘Educated’ Radnor High Grad, Tea Parties, ‘Climate Change’ And The Philadelphia Inquirer

David Brooks, a 1979 graduate of Radnor High School (Pa.) and the “conservative” columnist for the New York Times, has written a column about the growth of the tea party movement in which he expresses concern about how the ideas of the educated class have fallen from favor.

“The educated class believes in global warming, so public skepticism about global warming is on the rise. The educated class supports abortion rights, so public opinion is shifting against them. The educated class supports gun control, so opposition to gun control is mounting,” he said.

Now what Brooks is referring to “educated class” are people who have been certified as educated by self-proclaimed authorities, and their “education” consist mostly of why one must not question those authorities.

Most of that “educated class” does not know the Bible very well — think Howard Dean putting the Book of Job in the New Testament; and the ignorance extends to things like the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and pretty much most of American History. A noted 1993 poll of Ivy League students showed that 75 percent of them couldn’t identify who defined democracy as “a government of the people, by the people and for the people”, and half of them didn’t know their senators.

Which gets us to “global warming”. The skepticism isn’t about global warming but about whether it is a crisis. There are plenty of people who are not certified as educated by self-proclaimed authorities yet have the brains to understand that  claims should be rejected out-of-hand when someone who has gained financially and politically  by making those claims  has been found not to be forthright in presenting his evidence.

Perhaps, Brooks should re-define his class as the sucker-that-can-be-seen-a-mile-away class.

And that gets us to the Philadelphia Inquirer and the story it ran Saturday in which it attempted to whitewash the deeds of  Michael Mann, the director of Pennsylvania State University’s Earth System Science Center, whose emails were prominent among those leaked from East Anglia Climate Research Unit showing the entire movement to be an exercise in financially lucrative fear-mongering.

The Inky said:

Mann was affable and calm as he answered the assertions of his critics. The hardest part for him, he said, is having his integrity questioned. Scientists, he said, are “not trained to deal with these kinds of attacks.””My suspicion is, this has been orchestrated at a high level,” he said of the hacking.Behind his desk were a picture of his 4-year-old daughter and aplaque commemorating his contribution to the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, shared by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Mann was the lead author on the group’s 2001 assessment report.

No where does it mention that

— mention that data from East Anglia was destroyed.

— put in context that what Mann was advocating regarding the Climate Research Journal amounted to behind-the-scene censorship of legitimate dissenters.

— show that there was an attempt to distort data to fit the desired conclusion.  Here is an elaboration on what was being attempted

Here is a list of some of the more damning emails. Remember this group was trying to restrict your — not their own or Al Gore’s or Michael Moore’s — energy use, and make you  much poorer.

PSU Profs Tempted Concerning AGW Fraud

An email has been sent to the 27 members of Penn State University’s Earth System Science Center informing them that they stand to reap a sweet reward for providing information to federal authorities regarding anyone they know who may have been fraudulently misusing federal grant funds for climate research.

The whistleblower stands to get $15 million — 30 percent of the $50 million in misused grants.

The center’s director is Michael Mann who is at the heart of the scandal in which leading researchers were found to have destroyed data, publicized conclusions knowingly disregarding facts and marginalized critics using unsavory means to convince the world man-made emissions were causing the world to catastrophically warm.

The email:

Hi,

Greetings and best wishes for a prosperous New Year.

National Search
After the recent whistleblower revelations of emails between climate
researchers and data from the University of East Anglia’s Climate
Research Unit, there are on-going investigations into potential
fraudulent use of grant funds in Climate Research in the US.  I am
assisting interested parties who may have details of fraud in climate
research to make contact with the proper authorities, and to share in
the rewards paid when the funds are recovered.

Whistleblower Rewards Program
The federal government has established vigorous programs to identify
and prosecute fraudulent grant applications and administration.  The US
Department of Justice (DOJ) administers the False Claims Act.  It
allows rewards for those who come forward with details of grant fraud
to share in the recovery of federal funds.  This reward can be as much
as 30% of the total amount reclaimed.  The program is almost completely
reliant on insiders to report their knowledge of the fraud in their
institutions.

Attorney Literally “Wrote the Book” on Fraud Recovery Lawsuits
Joel Hesch, Esq., of Hesch and Associates, literally wrote the book on
how to report federal fraud.  He has an extensive background in
representing whistleblowers in all types of federal funding fraud
cases, including Educational/ Research Grant Fraud.  According to Mr
Hesch: “Many institutions receive grants, whether for research or
educational purposes. When they lie to get the grant or keep the grant
or if they use the funds for purposes outside the grant, they are
liable under the DOJ program. There have been many grant cases brought
by whistleblowers. ”

If you know of anyone who might have details about fraudulent
statements or actions by recipients of federal grant funds for climate
research, please have them contact me immediately at the below email or
cell phone.  Alternatively, they may also contact Mr Hersch directly,
and let him know that they were referred by me.  All communications are
completely confidential.  They may want to consider using a third party
email service (Yahoo, Hotmail, or other) instead of work email to
communicate.

30% of $50 million is more than $12 million.  Ask your friends to do the right thing, and be rewarded for doing it.
Our country, and in fact, the entire world is counting on someone to
stand up and tell the truth about climate research. The effects of
moving forward with taxes and policies based on fraudulent science
could potentially cripple the US economy and cost lives and jobs for
generations.

Look forward to hearing from you.

All the best

Senator Calls PSU Pres On Carpet Over Global Warming Scam

State Sen. Jeffrey Piccola (R-15)  warned Penn State University President Graham Spanier in a Dec. 3 letter that constituents are demanding the tax dollars be cut to the school unless it addresses its role in the global warming scandal.

Professor Michael Mann, who directs the Penn State’s Earth System Science Center, is at the heart of the scam.

Penn State, while it received $338,375,000 from Harrisburg in 2008-09, is independent from state control.

Here is Piccola’s letter to Spanier whose salary, btw, is $545,016.

Inky Mentions Global Warming Scam And Baghdad Bob Would Be Proud

Using style that would make Baghdad Bob proud, the Philadelphia Inquirer this morning covered the global warming scandal. The Inky put the stories on page 20. The headlines were “White House scientists defend climate data” and “Penn State professor: Research is sound”.

So what if dissenting views are squashed. So what if raw data is destroyed. So what if evidence is distorted so the desired conclusion is reached. Trust us, we are the Inquirer. There is no problem. We will welcome them with bullets and shoes.

Global Warming Scam Netted Big Bucks

So how could dedicated scientists fudge data regarding claims of catastrophic global warming and give ammunition to those seeking policies that would impoverish working people via higher energy costs?

Apparently for the money.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Phil Jones —  the director of the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit which was the source of the emails which blew the lid off the lies — received $19 million worth of research grants
between 2000 and 2006, a six-fold increase over what he got in the 1990s.

Wonder how much Penn State’s Michael Mann got?

For a laugh at Mann’s expense check out Hide the Decline.

Obama Science Czar Tied To Global Warming Scam

CanadaFreePress.Com is reporting that the hacked emails from the  University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit have tied President Obama’s “science czar”, John Holdren, to the global warming hoax.

The emails show that the world’s leading researchers fudged data and conspired via politics to silence scientific dissenters to convince the world that man-caused emissions were causing the earth to warm catastrophically.

Holdren holds the posts of director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and co-chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.

Meanwhile, President Obama is preparing for a trip to Copenhagen where the expectation is that he will cite global warming in pledging to reduce U.S. energy consumption and make us a poorer nation.

A central, if not the central, character in the scandal is Michael Mann, who is director of the Earth System Science Center at Penn State. Mann has been selected  as one of the 50 leading visionaries in Science and Technology by Scientific American,

This fraud  is being played out as though the cover has never been blown by the dying propagandists unaware of their loss of importance.  KYW is reporting that “Pa. Ranks 5th for Most Global Warming Pollution” but when I searched the site I could not find a mention of Mann or Eat Anglia or Climategate, which is what the scandal is being called.

Inky Still Mum On Global Warming Scam

Inky Still Mum On Global Warming Scam — Didn’t see a line in today’s (Nov. 25, 2009) Philadelphia Inquirer regarding the now five-day old story showing how respected proponents of the theory that man-made emissions are causing a catastrophic warming of the globe cooked the data to make their case.

And this is despite one of the central characters, Michael E. Mann, getting some of Pennsylania’s tax dollars funneled to him as the director of the Earth System Science Center at Penn State.

Penn State Prof Part Of Global Warming Scandal

Katrina Anderson at the Commonwealth Foundation is reporting among those whose discrediting emails have been found in the hacked documents from the Britain’s Hadley Climatic Research Centre is Penn State’s director of Earth System Science Center, Michael E. Mann.

The documents show that top researchers from around the world fudged data indicating that the world was dramatically warming.

Penn State Prof Part Of Global Warming Scandal

An Oscar Winning Hoax

One of the greatest scandals in modern science is starting to percolate into the public conscience.

A hacker, Nov. 20, downloaded 62 megabytes of data from a server at the University of East Anglia’s
Hadley Climatic Research Centre, one of the main centers of  global warming research, and uploaded them to an FTP site where they were available for the public for a few short hours which was more than enough time for them to be copied and spread through the World Wide Web like aerosol disinfectant.

The data included documents and emails indicating the researchers fudged data to make global warming appear certain and held bitterly emotional hate-filled feelings towards dissenters — not what you’d expect of detached intellectuals confident of their case.

It might still be a few weeks before you see it in the Philadelphia Inquirer, but then how many of you actually still read it?

Do remember that it was this research that was driving the “cap and trade” movement and other attempts to make us a poorer, weaker people.
