Holy Myrrh-Bearers All You Can Eat Brunch— Holy Myrrh-Bearers Eastern-Rite Catholic Church is having an all-you-can-eat brunch, 11 a.m. -2 p.m., Nov. 18, after the Sunday mass.

Cost is $10. On the menu are ham, bacon, sausage links, chicken nuggets, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, biscuits & country gravy, French toast casserole, cheesy potatoes, fruit salad, apple crumble cake, coffee and tea.

Russian Hacking Explained By Ex-Spook  — Former senior United States intelligence officer Jack Thomas Tomarchio will address the  Russian hacking in the 2016  election, Nov. 1 at Manor College. The event is 5-6:30 p.m., in the college’s Library Lecture Space, 700 Fox Chase Road, Jenkintown, Pa. 19046.

It’s free and open to the public.

Tomarchio will address how the US intelligence community found a Russian connection and  why the Russians would want to influence a US Presidential election. He will examine what the future holds for US-Russian relations and Russia’s relations with NATO, Europe, and the world.

He will also discuss the cyber attacks brought against Ukraine and its electrical grid system.

Holdomor Remembered At Manor College — Manor College is holding, Oct. 4, a commemoration for the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor, the man-made famine in Soviet Ukraine from 1932 -1933 that killed millions of Ukrainians. The college is at 700 Fox Chase Road, Jenkintown, Pa., 19046. The remembrance will be held in the school’s Ukrainian Heritage Museum at Manor College at 1 p.m. This event is open to the community.  

On the 85 days leading up to International Holodomor Memorial Day on November 24 2018, a candle will be lit daily in a different part of the world uniting Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine in remembrance of the innocent victims of the genocidal policy of the Stalin regime, while raising awareness of the issues of human rights, respect and tolerance,” said Chrystyna Prokopovych, who is curator of the museum.

TEDxWilmington Includes Horse From Newtown SquareTEDxWilmington Includes Horse From Newtown Square — A horse from Newtown Square will take the stage, Sept. 27, for the 7th Annual TEDxWilmington Conference.

Actually, the horse reportedly will sit on a beanbag chair, a first-ever for TEDx.

His name is Viton and he is a 20-year-old double registered gelding and two time Pinto Congress Champion. He belongs to Mindy Tatz Chernoff. Ms. Chernoff is a equine specialist and and has spoken before at TEDx.

The conference features 27 speakers from 12 states and four countries. The theme is what to do with the endless flow of ideas in this age of information.

The conference runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be at the Figure 8 Barn at Bellevue State Park, 800 Carr Road, Wilmington, DE, 19809.

Ukrainian Food Festival Is Sept. 29A Ukrainian Food Festival featuring delicious ethnic foods, music and dancing will be held noon to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29 at Holy Myrrh-Bearers Church, 900 Fairview Road, Swarthmore, Pa. 19081.

It’s free and includes tours of the historic church.

Food for sale will include pierogies, holubki (stuffed cabbage), halushi (cabbage with noodles), kielbasi, potato pancakes and homemade desserts.

The Kazka Ukrainian Folk Ensemble will perform at 1 p.m. and the Kazka Ukrainian Dancers will take the stage at 3 p.m.

It’s rain or shine and will be a great time.
