Spring Honor Flight 2017 Returns June 10 Spring Honor Flight 2017 Returns June 10 — The public is invited to greet 125 World War II and Korean War veterans when they return, 6 p.m., Saturday, June 10, to St. Kevin Church from Philadelphia Honor Flight’s Spring 2017 trip.

The church is at 200 W. Sproul Road, Springfield, Pa. 19064.

Honor Flight is a national non-profit organization founded in 2005 to give aging or terminally ill veterans a day of honor in Washington D.C.

There is no cost to the veterans.

The Philadelphia hub was started in 2011 by Springfield resident Andrew Schiavello.

Honor Flight Philly Raffle Winner 2016 — Andrew Schiavello of Honor Flight Philadelphia tells us that Michael H. of Millville N.J. is the grand prize winner of this year’s Honor Flight Philadelphia raffle.

Michael gets four tickets o the Dec. 22 game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants.

This includes V.I.P. Parking, pre-game sideline passes and more.

Vietnam Vets Sought For Honor Flight Trip — The Philadelphia Chapter of Honor Flight, a non-profit dedicated to helping every Veteran in America visit the national memorials dedicated to their service, and Philadelphia’s SugarHouse Casino have partnered to provide to celebrate Philadelphia-area Vietnam veterans Vwith an all-expense paid full-day excursion to Washington, D.C. Vietnam Vets Sought For Honor Flight Trip

Vietnam War Veterans will “Report for Duty” on Saturday, Oct. 1, at SugarHouse Casino where they then travel by bus convoy to visit Arlington National Cemetery to honor the service of men and woman of war who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country. The more than 200 Vietnam Veterans, will tour Washington, D.C. memorials, most notably the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, dedicated 1982, which reflects the images of visitors simultaneously with the engraved names of those killed or missing in action, to symbolically bring the past and present together.

“SugarHouse Casino is proud to partner with Honor Flight Philadelphia and to help recognize the military service of men and women veterans of our nation,” said Sugarhouse CEO Wendy Hamilton. “We are excited to sponsor Honor Flight Philadelphia’s Day of Honor for our Vietnam War veterans because we know these heroes were not warmly welcomed home at the end of their military service, and so together with our SugarHouse Casino employees and patrons we will make that right with a vigorous and long overdue ‘Welcome Home’ and ‘Thank You for Your Service’ these veterans will never forget.”

Honor Flight Philadelphia 2016 Spring TripHonor Flight Philadelphia 2016 Spring Trip — Honor Flight Philadelphia is seeking World War II and Korean Conflict veterans for its 2016 spring trip.

Participants will travel by bus on Saturday, May 21, for a special day in Washington D.C. It will feature visits to Arlington National Cemetery, the Korean War Memorial, the World War II Memorial,  Women’s Memorial, Marine Memorial and Air Force Memorial.

It includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, memorabilia along with a USO style show.

There is no cost.

A veteran returning home from last spring’s Honor Flight Philadelphia trip.

All proceeds from All American Day Charitable Trust 4th Annual Golf Outing will benefit Honor Flight Philadelphia, according to even organizers.

It will be held Oct. 16 at Broad Run Golfer’s Club, 1520 Tattersall Way, West Chester, Pa. 19380.

Foursome’s are $360 and must be paid in advance. The cost for individuals is $110 or $100 on the day of the event.

The veterans were from World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

The five buses with a vanguard of bikers entered the lot  just before 7 p.m. through a ladder arch placed on Sproul Road by volunteer firemen and festooned with an American flag.

There was one estimate that 500 bikers escorted the buses.
Honor Flight Philadelphia Spring 2015 Trip -- They met Congress Meehan (R-Pa7) and then were led into the church hall where they were treated to a scrumptious feast and a floor show by The Manhattan Dolls.
