Wyndmoor Going Upscale

Wyndmoor Going Upscale

By Dr. John W. Gilmore

My little town of Wyndmoor, Pa. nuzzled against Mount Airy and Chestnut Hill is changing at Traymore and Willowgrove avenues.   New shops and buildings are popping up while others, old stores, small business, and gas stations that served the neighborhood well, are disappearing under the shovel and hammer of progress.  The most recent change is a large condo unit replacing our gas station, our small but convenient hardware store, and a few houses and small businesses. Some of the condos cost as much as $400,000.  Rumor has it they have already been sold.

Wyndmoor Going Upscale
You can tell a town by its coffee shop.A view of Wyndmoor from Locals Coffee & Eatery

On the bottom floor there are new businesses. Captain Andy’s Market where a Tanning Salon used to be; Enza wine and Pizza where a house once stood; Toni’s Pizza (the only neighborhood shop left standing) surrounded by and having to compete with it’s new Pizza selling neighbor; Lash Lounge; Pure Barre (an upscale clothing store); and across the street Skin Smart Dermatology are just a few new shops, and at the very corner of the building Locals Coffee shop.

Locals is a coffee shop with a large open space and polished concrete floors.  The ceiling is painted black with a large fan and silver ducts and pipes running along it giving it a polished, industrial look. Blond wood tables–some large and long with a raw rustic look, but well polished and varnished, others small and square with padded benches provide comfortable seating.  There are four leather chairs seated in front of a small fireplace embedded in the wall below a large screen TV.  The music is pleasing.

There are various items placed artfully around the room that attract the eye:  old wooden  baskets of fruit, potato chips, various types of food.  A dark metal case with sodas, orange juices, water, and various drinks for those who may want something other than coffee sits close to the counter.  Pastries, sandwiches, and many variations of the  main ingredient–coffee and even tea are sold.

I always thought that one could tell the quality of the town by its coffee shop or lack thereof.  Now we have one we can compare. I sit in a large leather chair next to the fire place.  Is it real fire?  It looks as though it is a fire sealed behind glass and plastic, yet I don’t feel the heat.  The atmosphere is relaxed.  Soft jazz is playing.  It can be crowded sometimes, but due to the openness of the space the voices seem muffled and absorbed. It is good to have a coffee shop so close to my home that I can walk.

Wyndmoor is changing.  It is the closest town to Chestnut Hill and Mount Airy.  Upscale houses, mansions and estates line the streets directly behind it.  Real estate prices are high in Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill.  Perhaps this is the next hot spot for gentrification and housing prices will rise.  I really don’t know if that is a good thing.  What has the world come to when even middle class neighborhoods are unsafe from the shovel and hammer?

Montco Child Support Case Rigged?

Is Montco Child Support Case Rigged?

By Elaine Mickman

My son’s child support was unlawfully terminated December 2018 when he was a minor public school student. I filed all proper legal recourse, but hearings and due process were denied.

The Domestic Relations Director suggested February 2019 that I file a “New Complaint” for which preliminary proceedings occurred March 2019, April 2019, and May 30, 2019 while my child suffered without support.

Is Montco Child Support Case Rigged?

A Sept. 13, 2019 Order reconvened the Support Master Evidentiary Hearing for Jan. 6, 2020, but my Ex flouted the Rules by prematurely filing for an Exceptions Hearing at the Courthouse without a required Recommended Master Order, without purchasing both Support Master proceeding transcripts, and without the Support Master Hearing concluding so that he could bypass the Support Master Hearing where evidence and testimony are presented to eliminate a Record.

A Montgomery County Court Judge “ordered-away” my Constitutional Due Process Right November 2019 at the request of my Ex, compelling me to file an appeal Dec. 11, 2019.The Court scheduled Ex’s Exceptions proceeding for Jan. 7, 2020 while the Court postponed my Jan. 6, 2020 Child Support Master Hearing to Feb. 7, 2020 at the additional demand of my Ex. Just 3 days prior to the Feb. 7, 2020 Support Master Evidentiary Hearing, the Judge entered a Feb. 4, 2020

Order stating that my Child Support Master Hearing was Stayed because a Dec. 11, 2019 appeal was pending regardless that the Judge conducted my Ex’s Jan. 7, 2020 Exceptions Hearing, applying a “double-standard” to favor my Ex while “starving-out” the UNEMANCIPATED child who has been without support for 14 months and further delaying a hearing for due process. The Judge took my Ex’s Jan. 7, 2020 Exceptions “under advisement”, but “Justice delayed is justice denied”.There is no explanation for the Judge’s actions in which my Ex received “Special Treatment” to bypass the Rules, other than my Ex “buying access to the court” otherwise known as Quid Pro Quo.

Where’s the Judicial fairness and impartiality ?

Why are the County Commissioners “championing” the court rather than exercising Executive branch actionsince Commissioner Arkoosh is a member of the Family Judicial Advisory Board and the Court is funded by the County which is losing Federal funding by my child, and other children, being denied child support?

Is this Montgomery County personnel/elected Official’s “self-interest” over County interest?

Marti Oakley Features Montco Woman

Marti Oakley Features Montco Woman — Elaine Mickman of Lower Merion has appeared twice over the last few months on Marti Oakley’s Minnesota-based radio show.

Marti is a world-wide advocate for the elderly who have been taken advantage of by “guardians, and fights injustices by probate systems and courts in general.

She airs on the TS Radio Network and her shows are archived on the web.

Montgomery County, Pa is one of her favorite topics with a whole category labeled “Ottholes” in honor of Stanley Ott, who was Montco’s Administrative Judge of the Orphans’ Court Division until his retirement last year .

Elaine says Montco falsely credited her ex-husband for $550,000 he never paid relating to child support regarding their divorce, and never required proof of income from him at child support hearings. She says the county is trying to make her autistic son — now an adult at 18 years of age — pay it back.

It’s easy to dismiss the grievances of a woman — or man for that matter — regarding a divorce. We don’t though because we find it far easier to believe corruption and greed are rampant in Philadelphia suburban government. See here and here.

Anyway, here are link’s to Elaine’s appearances on Marti’s show:

Elizabeth Preate Havey Must Resign

Dear Editor

Elizabeth Preate Havey must resign as chair of the Montgomery County Republican Committee.

With the result of the Nov. 5 Pennsylvania general election, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, has remained with its Democratic Row Officers winning this election, consistent with the former Chair.

Monies were funneled to Montgomery County Republican insiders in a joint effort to defeat the current / newly elected Republican County Commissioner, from Philadelphia Democrat politicians. The recipient being the Horsham Republican Party. The Chair supports / accepts the former Planned Parenthood board member’s donation as well. We do not want to fall under the guideline(s) and become another Philadelphia county.

As true grassroots, the registered voters of Montgomery County support the pre-born. Said Chair is not acting in true fashion with our values.

The Chair held no regard to the fraudulent activity / activities that occurred in our May primary election. Voters were being purposely deceived into believing there was an “endorsement” when there actually was not. We find this theft by perception.

A grassroots candidate is flourished from seed. Said candidate is deemed a Free Thinker, not to be controlled by the Chair / Committee. To uphold true morality, integrity, and honesty, as our Founding Fathers were so very instrumental in doing. The majority of voters feel the Chair did not and does not stand up to these Conservative grassroot attributes and is no friend to them.

With this being said, I am requesting the Chair to step down immediately after the new year. A special election will appoint the new one.

Chris Saullo Makes Environment Campaign Issue

Chris Saullo Makes Environment Campaign Issue — Chris P. Saullo is seeking a supervisor seat, Nov. 5, in Lower Gwynedd in Montgomery County.

His main issue might be the Wissahickon Creek watershed. It is good to see It is good to see a Republican making the environment a front and center issue. He issued the below statement.

For what it is worth, all new development but especially residential development from which people must flee during floods should be prohibited on creek and river banks. It’s one time when eminent domain makes eminent sense.

Saullo’s statement:

Chris Saullo Makes Environment Campaign Issue

I am deeply concerned with the known problems within the Wissahickon Creek watershed. In 2015, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 3 (EPA) has established a total maximum daily load (TMDL) for total phosphorus (TP) within the Wissahickon Creek Watershed. This issue affects 13 municipalities within the 64 square miles of the Wissahickon watershed, with Lower Gywnedd Township being one of them.

We should consider a pause to rethink our focus in regard to development in our township in order to stop and hopefully eventually reverse this problem. Off the top of my head, this is greater than just stormwater management. And what raises the stakes on this issue is the Wissahickon Creek is used as the main source of water for over 200,000 households, and in the summer the only flow in the Wissahickon Creek is from the Ambler Wastewater Treatment Plant.

As I said above, I am deeply concerned with this issue and I do know Lower Gwynedd Township has joined with the other municipalities to begin developing a plan towards repairing this issue. We, as a community, are at the beginning of even understanding this problem and all that factors into it. Take note Bill, this is a local issue and will be solved locally. This is one example of where candidates in the upcoming municipal election should be focused, not on national issues.

And as a candidate for township supervisor, I’ll simply ask my neighbors, on what issues are the other candidates focused?

Wolf Shapiro Coming To Chesco, Montco

Wolf Shapiro Coming To Chesco
Supports racists

Wolf Shapiro Coming To Chesco, Montco — A good friend forwarded the announcement that Pennsylvania’s horrific governor, Tom Wolf, a friend and ally of racists — we are not exaggerating, he was Charlie Robertson’s campaign manager — and his wannabe replacement, crony capitalist Josh Shapiro, whose concern for victims of sexual abuse is notably conditional, will be coming to Chester County, Saturday (Nov. 2), to continue their quest to Californiaize Pennsylvania and get richer and more powerful in the process.

Can you say deliberate blackouts? We knew you could.

Wolf Shapiro Coming To Chesco
Crony capitalist

The Democratic Party campaign event for which they are scheduled to appear is 1-4:30 p.m. at the Kennett Democrats, 115 Marshall St., Kennett Square, Pa. 19348. Wolf and Shapiro cannot be there the whole time as they are also scheduled for a Montgomery County Democrat Party event noon to 4 p.m., UFCW Local 1776, 3031 Walton Rd, Plymouth Meeting, Pa. 19462.

Thank you Pauline for the update.

Hey hipster Millennials being crushed by student loans, what has Wolf done to curtail the ridiculous educational salaries and pensions causing your loans to be so burdensome?

Crowd Protests Scanlon Over Impeachment Push — About 35 protesters greeted Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon at yesterday’s (Oct. 20) town hall at Strath Haven High School in Nether Providence Township our sources tell us.

Ms. Scanlon is the divisive Democrat who represents Pennsylvania’s 5th District.

The purpose of the event was to drum up support for the Democrat coup d’état of President Trump disguised as an impeachment proceeding.

About 200 in total — a rather small crowd considering — attended the event.

Activist Susan Jane Goldner has posted numerous videos on Facebook.

Susan Jane, of Montgomery County, was one of the organizers of the protest against the Democrat Scanlon. She had been a much more active-than-average Republican committeewoman in Lower Gwynedd until she was forced from her post last December. It would have been nice if the GOP leadership kept her in the fold considering the division in the party and the opportunity they are blowing to take back control of the county this Nov. 5.

Divisive Democrat Madeleine Dean

Divisive Democrat Madeleine Dean — Divisive Madeleine Dean, the Democrat who represents Pennsylvania’s 4th Congressional District, which is most of Montgomery County, spent her 15 minutes at Monday’s (Oct. 7) purportedly bi-partisan Montgomery County Legislative Summit calling for President Trump’s impeachment.

Divisive Democrat Madeleine Dean
Madeleine Dean spreading division

Why does she think the President needs to be impeached. Because he’s “obstructive” and “lawless”, she says. Hey, who cares what the words actually mean. They sound good.

The impeachment push is based on a July 25 phone conversation President Trump had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in which President Trump asked newly-elected President Zelenskyy for help in getting to the bottom of illegal interference –foreign and otherwise — in the 2016 election.

Remember when interference in the 2016 election was the issue of the day for divisive Dems? Sure you do. That was just a few short months ago.

President Trump also asked President Zelenskyy to look into apparent crimes committed in the Ukraine by high-ranking American officials.

Why don’t Dems like Madeleine want these crimes investigated? What are they afraid of? They sure seem to be panicking.

Here is a link to some of her comments. Thank you Susan Jane Goldner.

Pauline Manhandled From Montco Commissioners

Pauline Manhandled From Montco Commissioners — Pauline Braccio, whose health issues include bulging spinal disks, arrhythmia, asthma and lymphedema, was manhandled and removed by a county deputy sheriff from today’s (Oct. 3) Montgomery County Commissioners meeting after she questioned the minutes from the Aug. 8 meeting.

She was placed in handcuffs and thrown into a cell before her statement was taken by two county detectives after which she was released. Ms. Braccio said the situation brought on an asthma attack and she had to use a rescue inhaler. She says that due to her diabetes, the bruises on her arms and hands will take weeks to heal. She also has burst blood vessels on her forearm.

Ms. Braccio said that she will be notified in about a week if charges will be filed.

Ms. Braccio has spoken out at commissioner meetings for nearly a year saying Commissioner Ken Lawrence raped her after his friend drugged her at a community college event in 1990.

Lawrence response to the accusations has been unsatisfactory, Ms. Braccio says.

At today’s meeting, Ms. Braccio said she rose to address the August minutes which stated Lawrence responded directly to her claims. Ms. Braccio said, however, he never spoke directly to her but rather said during commissioner comments “Let the minutes reflect that I responded to Ms. Braccio’s comments that her allegations are false.”

The minutes say that “Vice Chair Lawrence commented that he responded to Ms. Pauline Braccio’s allegations as false.”

Ms. Braccio says he never directly addressed her. She says he wants him to look her in the eye and deny it. She says that when he made his statement he was looking at Chairwoman Valerie Arkoosh.

After she made her comment about the minutes, Ms. Braccio explained that her comments were germane to the county government because sexual allegations have been widely discussed and investigated concerning State Sen. Daylin Leach (D-17), Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax, and Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

At that point, County Solicitor Josh Stein told her she had crossed the line and to desist, at which she said she did.

Chairwoman Arkoosh immediately called a recess and the commissioners walked out leaving Ms. Braccio at the podium.

She said Stein approached her and told her she couldn’t keep bringing up the rape. She agreed not to and he said she could continue with other comments which she said related to public integrity, the family justice advisory board and the judiciary. Stein was then called away.

She said he returned with security and said she had to leave. She asked why he changed his mind, and a hulking deputy sheriff grabbed her twisting her back and manhandled her from the room. He roughly placed her in handcuffs bruising her arms and marched her to the sheriff’s department. They tried restraining her legs but couldn’t get the shackles around them due to her lymphedema.

Obviously she was a danger and a threat.

That was sarcasm.

Maybe they could have asked to leave as they had in the past. She had complied every time.

She was placed in a cell with two women, one of whom she says had been incarcerated since Aug. 7 for unpaid parking tickets. The detectives were called. They interviewed her and she was freed. Her ordeal lasted three hours.

Misogynistic Montco Fireworks?

Misogynistic Montco Fireworks? — So what was this abusive and misogynistic event that we heard transpired at the just ended (Oct. 3) Montgomery County (Pa) Commissioners meeting?

Please tell us that Montco is not a place were victims get arrested and rapists get protected.

Joe Gale, what’s going on?

Stay tuned.
