Idaho murder impunity — There is a 50-square mile spot in Idaho where one can murder with impunity. Or so goes the theory.
It concerns an uninhabited section of Yellowstone Park, which is under federal jurisdiction.
The 6th Amendment requires a trial by “an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed”.
Since no one lives in that part of Idaho a jury meeting that requirement couldn’t be impaneled.
Or so it is claimed.
