The footprints on the moon will last practically forever but how many are there? It’s hard to say. We know that 12 men walked on it and spent more than 70 hours outside the module on the lunar surface ranging from the 2 hours, 31 minutes and 40 seconds enjoyed by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin in Apollo 11 to 22 hours by Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt on Apollo 17. And of course some of that time included driving the Lunar Rover were they would be leaving tire tracks and not footprints.
We know, though, that all the footprints are American.
