One hundred and one years and one day ago -- that would be June 9, 1914 -- famed Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Honus Wagner got his landmark 3,000th hit in a game against the Philadelphia Phillies.  He also used the old hidden ball trick to tag Beals Becker out at second.  He also tricked Hans Lobert into starting for third after stealing second then tagging him out.  But that's not the amazing thing about the day. The amazing thing is the Phillies actually won, 3-1.
