Is The Old Media Now Muslim?

Ben Stein makes a fascinating observation in The American Spectator about how the dinosaur media has adopted the fashion of referring to Mohammad as “The Prophet Mohammad”.

When did they get religion?
Mohammad is not my prophet and most of us here don’t think he’s any kind of prophet. In fact, most of here think the worldview he articulates is not even a very good one. The values he demands actually fly in the face of everything the militant secularists that run the dinosaurs claim to be are good.
So what’s with the religion?
One grants that one should not be gratuitously offensive to Muslims but one can certainly do so without conceding to any claims they make to authority or otherwise. Actually, it seems the job of those whose alleged reason for existence is to “afflict the comfortable” ought to go out of their way to challenge Islamic claims to authority. It’s not the guy who is walking his dog that is the one being the bully.
And it should be noted that the dinosaurs seem to go out of their way to be gratuitously offensive to Christians and Jews. The odious “Piss Christ”, the original display of which was partially funded with tax dollars, is now going back on display in New York.
The old media thinks this is just peachy.
If the Muslims protest, as they very well might as unlike the secularists they believe Jesus should be honored, whatever will the Village Voice and the New York Times and President Obama do?
