The artificial leg of Santa Anna — the general was the bad guy at the Battle of the Alamo — is on display at the Illinois State Military Museum.
It was captured at by the Battle of Cerro Gordo during the Mexican War by the Fourth Regiment of the Illinois Volunteer Infantry.
The General escaped on horseback. He couldn’t run, after all.
