Montco Green-lighting Apartment Construction We Are Told

Montco Green-lighting Apartment Construction — A little birdie told us that the The Montgomery County Commissioners, this morning (July 25) green-lighted a pile of apartment construction.

Our birdie said there was no consideration of traffic or increased school enrollment

“The suburbs are being converted into city,” our birdie said.

  1. Bill: Chester County is currently suffering from this ABOMINATION–in so very many townships along the Route 30 corridor especially, though not exclusively. County commissioners, right along with township officials, had better stop this high density development if they expect reelection. I don’t need to tell anyone how this signals the “uglification” of Chester County and an inevitable decline in all aspects of quality of life, public schools, infrastructure, etc.My guess is that it will be accompanied by an inevitable increase in taxes to pay for new schools, roads, on and on the list goes. Does either political party think we are all so stupid as to not know how much developers fill party coffers to enable their march westward? Beware, all you politically “connected”: This is the age of the independent voter/populism (regardless of party registration) and WE VALUE our quality of life over your insincere, outdated, and expensive ads showing “honest” politicians, posed in front of Chesco farms that no longer exist. As a lifelong, registered R, I will vote for local and state candidates who value MY quality of life and fight high density development to maintain it!

  2. Increased apartment development results in overcrowded schools which drives-up taxes and especially
impacts seniors and fixed-income residents by taxing them out of their houses.
The increased population not only increases traffic congestion, but eliminates parking in some neighborhoods. “Surbanites” enjoy our quiet neighborhoods.
