No Miranda, a swastika is not automatically bad and neither are all Nazis. Nazi Paikidze-Barnes is the U.S. Women’s Chess Champion and is a great role model. She is not weak and meek even though her name means “gentle” in her native Georgian. Nazi is refusing to participate in the Women’s World Chess Championship in Tehran, Iran because of a requirement to wear a hijab.
That’s a good thing.
With regard to swastikas, the word means “lucky object” in Sanskrit. There is one on the St. Thomas World War I Memorial in England.
The British used it on war savings coupons during World War I. And it appeared on U.S. planes in at the time.
Of course, they appeared on U.S. planes during World War II but that was for a different reason.
