Listening for them was a well-remembered part of childhood for several generations. That’s right sonny, we had to listen to the radio to find out if we didn’t have school.

  1. Radio stations still broadcast school closing and delays up here, in the Lehigh Valley. They don’t use numbers, though; they use the district name, or the school name, in the case of charter schools, IUs, etc.
