The USS Irene Forsyte was part of the US Navy during World War II. It was armed with a 4-inch gun, a 40 mm gun and two 20 mm guns. And just as the naval vessels in continental times,it was propelled by sails. It was meant to decoy German submarines into attacking it. None ever did.
