Val Blasts Philly Patronage, LOL — Chester County Republican Chairman and registered lobbyist Val DiGiorgio blasted corruption in Philadelphia and its media enablers in a letter  in today’s (Jan. 29) The Philadelphia Inquirer which can be found online here.

Val wrote: The Inquirer and Daily News have expressed outrage over the corruption and patronage in Philadelphia government. Forgive me if I am skeptical.

Val wrote: But now The Inquirer – after decades of helping to create the one-party, corrupt dynasty of former Mayor John F. Street – is shocked to find corruption, patronage, and a good ol’ boys’ network of protection, support, and mock outrage. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

Wow. That’s telling them. Pot calling the kettle black. We like it. We betcha the city’s Commerce Department is just loaded with patronage jobs. Wonder if any patronage happens in the burbs. That would be something to look into. Let’s encourage the Inquirer to investigate!!!

Hey Val, did you see the letter below yours ripping Comcast? Better get on it. Can’t let these things fester you know.

  1. Val lived in Philadelphia and was involved in Philadelphia politics most of his life. In fact, when coming to Chester County, Val would say that he worked in Philadelphia politics and could help Chester County. Politics in Philadelphia has always been corrupt, but if he feels it’s corrupt in Philly, since he has the experience, why doesn’t he move back there to clean it up and stop polluting Chester County politics. We would be more than happy to see him and his corrupt tactics leave Chester County. Now that would be a win for the county.

    1. Val grew up in Philadelphia and experienced just how horrible voter corruption is in the city. As a republican, Val was an outsider and obviously not part of any establishment. Portraying him as part of that cesspool is just wrong in my opinion. Val does a great job for our party, and anyone who knows Val has to be impressed with his energy, knowledge and enthusiasm. I spoke with him a length at a Christmas dinner last year, and he is always willing to listen and help. Most want to dictate where he listens. Call me bias, but I think he is a good man and is devoted to our party. Maybe, folks who trash him should actually have a conversation with him before they decide to judge him. Sorry, that would be the fair thing to do.

      1. Great comment Sean.

I’ve been following this ridiculousness for a while and I can’t help but wonder if Bill, or this radio station who continues to have Donna Ellingsen on as a guest, has actually reached out to Val for comment?

Instead of bashing Mr. DiGiorgio and Mr. Rahn (and their wives), wouldn’t it be better to hear both sides and then report the facts. Have you done so Mr. Lawrence?
