Britain Got More Conservative? — Call it WINNING. Last night’s election in the United Kingdom saw the well-heeled establishment Conservative Party lose its absolute majority albeit it remains the largest party in Parliment at 317 seats versus 261 for second place, well-heeled establishment Labor.
326 seats are needed to form a government.
It appears they are going to get them from the Northern Ireland-based Democrat Union Party. While the DUP wants an open border with the rest of Ireland, it does want out of the European Union. It also opposes abortion and gay marriage and is skeptical of global warming.
It is very likley that Britain just got more conservative.
