Capital punishment in Japan William Lawrence Sr Omnibit 11-5-19

Capital punishment in Japan is carried out by hanging but that’s not the cold part. The cold part is that the convicted one is not told when the hanging will happen until the morning it does. On death row in Nippon live every day like it’s your last.

For what it’s worth, those there may not watch TV, get only three books and may not exercise in their cells.

  1. We should do that.
Hanging is an ignominious death, a dishonorable death. That’s why it was common for criminals to be hanged. They had set themselves apart from the human community, and hanging was fitting.
That’s why those condemned by the tribunals after WW II were hanged.

  2. Carlos Ghosn, formerly the savior of Nissan, can tell you about crime & punishment in Japan. Not that anyone wants to get arrested anywhere, but you definitely don’t want to get arrested in Japan when you look at how they have treated him and start reading about their “justice” system. Freakin’ Medieval!

    1. Great point Maria. Just a regular reminder: First time posters end up in the mod queue. After approval, new posts should appear instantly if the same name & email is used.
