Future Of The Resume Topic Of Louise Polis
By Kate Rainey
Joseph’s People Central Delaware County (JPCD) welcomes Louise Polis, who will present The Future of the Resume. The program is 7-8:30 p.m., Oct. 2, at Media Presbyterian Church’s Hassler Chapel, 30 E Baltimore Ave., Media, PA 19063. The chapel can be accessed from the Baltimore Avenue side, to the left of the main door, or around back on East Franklin Street, enter the back door and go up the stairs. All are welcome.
The function of a resume is to tell your career story and intrigue the hiring manager’s attention. For many in the career management world, LinkedIn has more value than the resume. And others say that LinkedIn will replace it altogether. Louise will discuss the use and future of LinkedIn and resumes. She will also address concerns about readability, clarity, brevity, and authenticity.
Bring your paper resume and your questions. Louise will look for those old-school rules and show how to include the new expectations to gain that best-fit job opportunity.
