Renewable Energy Surpasses Coal — Energy from renewable sources surpassed that from coal in 2019. Coal provided 11.3 quadrillion British thermal units compared to 11.5 quadrillion British thermal units from things like wind, hydro-electric, solar, geothermal and bio i.e. wood. Wind has passed hydro-electric as the most used source of renewables.
