Tell a girl her eyes are verdigris she’ll probably take it the wrong way.  The vibrant blue-green was a popular tint from antiquity to the Middle Ages in paints and materials but nobody knows what it is anymore. It was made with highly toxic copper acetate and was replaced when better options were found.
