Trump Picked Aston Himself Says Higgins
By Joseph B. Dychala

Donald Trump himself picked Aston as the venue for tomorrow’s (Sept. 13) speech at the Aston Community Center, 7th Ward Commissioner Mike Higgins told us at yesterday’s 9/11 tribute at Veteran’s Memorial Garden at The Five Points.
Trump’s invitation-only speech will be streamed live 7:30 p.m., at this link.
Yesterday’s ceremony was held at 3 p.m. and commemorated the 15th Anniversary of the Radical Islamic Terrorist Attack. It was sponsored by local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts as well as American Legion Post 926.
Higgins was among the speakers as were State Senator Tom Killion, State Rep. Leanne Kruger-Braneky and a person from Congressman Patrick Meehan’s office.
All gave brief yet very meaningful speeches to an attentive audience.
Higgins said that it was his strong and sincere desire that our federal leaders call terrorism exactly what it is. Much applause followed.
Senior Pastor Rev. Thomas Haugh from Mount Hope Methodist Church gave the opening and closing prayers. The Sun Valley Choir sang our National Anthem as a very respectful crowd stood at attention and a local singer led the crowd in a rousing rendition of God Bless America.
Concerning Trump’s speech tomorrow, the commissioners we talked to said they expect the emphasis to be on family values. Seems very fitting as Aston is one of the oldest communities in the Commonwealth incorporating in 1688 and home to many families and small businesses.

H8er Hillary Spreads Division — Hillary Clinton, yesterday, Sept. 9, told a crowd of rich crony capitalists and assorted other 1-percenters that half of Donald Trump’s supporters were “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic.”

She called them a “basket of deplorables”.
The fundraiser was held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. Tickets ranged from $1,000 to $250,000.
Trump’s supporters are those who have been long out of work. They are those who have seen their incomes drop and health cost rise.
They are those who have lost their doctor despite being promised otherwise.
Trump’s supporters are those who fear we are slouching towards Venezuela.
Trump’s supporters are those who have seen the world become a much more dangerous place due to, at best, an incompetent foreign policy which can be laid at Mrs. Clinton’s feet.
They are not racists, sexists and homophobes.
The racist, sexist, homophobes are backing Mrs. Clinton.

Wallet Guarding Time Looms
By Leo Knepper
In early August we mentioned that the “balanced” budget passed by the General Assembly was falling apart. At present, not one casino applied for the $1 million liquor license authorizing them to sell liquor twenty-four hours a day. Also, the tax that General Assembly levied on electronic cigarettes is going to bankrupt small businesses.
When the General Assembly returns later this month, the House and Senate will be looking for ways to fill the holes. The smart thing to do would be to cut spending and trim back corporate welfare. For example, does Pennsylvania really need a $4 million tax credit to attract big name performers to second tier cities? Or, $250 million for a race horse development fund?
The taxpayer friendly answer is no.
The average Pennsylvanian does not benefit from the various flavors of crony capitalism baked into state spending. Unfortunately, that doesn’t stop the General Assembly from adding new items “economic development” programs without concern for the people paying the bill.
As we learn more about the tax options being considered by the House and Senate, the Citizens Alliance of Pennsylvania will pass that information along to you.
