Holy Myrrh-Bearers Flea Market 2017 — Holy Myrrh-Bearers Church’s fall flea market will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 14 at the church, 900 Fairview Road, Swarthmore, Pa. 19081.
Tables are $20. Call 610-544-1215 by Oct. 7 to reserve a space.
Food vendors will not be accepted, however.
Holy Myrrh-Bears is an Eastern Rite Catholic Church. Liturgies are 5 p.m. Saturdays in English and 10 a.m., Sundays in Ukrainian and English.
Brad Thor Media Theatre Appearance Part Of Speaker Series — WPHT’s Dom Giordano hosts author Brad Thor at the Media Theatre for the Performing Arts where he will discuss his latest book Use of Force: A Thriller.
It’s 7 p.m., Thursday, July 13 and is part of WPHT’s Speaker Series.
Tickets are $24. and include a signed copy of Use of Force.

Finzi, Krommer, Schumann End Chamber Season

The final Delaware County Symphony chamber concert performance is Sunday, April 2 at 3 p.m. The concert takes place at Neumann University in the Meagher Theater in The Bruder Life Center. Ample free parking is provided.
The program includes selections from Finzi, Krommer and Schumann. Opening the afternoon is three of the Five Bagatelles for Clarinet and Piano by Gerald Finzi followed by Concerto for Two Clarinets in E-flat Major by Franz Krommer. The afternoon concludes with Piano Quintet in E-flat Major by Robert Schumann. Featured performer Arnold Ostroff will be playing the Steinway Concert Grand with Michael Berton on cello.
Tickets may be purchased day of show for $12 each with a special two for one promotion for Delaware and Montgomery County library members upon presenting their library card. Tickets for students and seniors are discounted to $10 each. As always, any child twelve years or under receives free admission with an accompanying paid adult. This is an excellent way to bring the classics to a new generation of listeners.
The final full orchestra concert performance will conclude the 2016 – 2017 concert season on April 30 and feature selections from Shostakovich, Franck, Elgar and Tchaikovsky.
Alex Charlton Ice Cream Social 3-23-17 — State Rep. Alex Charlton is holding an open house and ice cream social for residents of his 165th District, 4:30-6:30 p.m., March 23, at his office 905 W. Sproul Road, Suite 203, Springfield, Pa. 19064.

Delco Symphony Plays The 5th — The Delaware County Symphony will perform Beethoven’s well known Fifth Symphony this Sunday, March 5, at Neumann University’s Meagher Theater.
The music begins at 3 p.m. but plan on arriving early to enjoy a discussion with Dr C. Michael Kelly at 2 p.m. regarding the program’s selections and composers. Peace and Hope, the title of the afternoon’s performance begins with Franz Schubert’s “unfinished symphony”. In addition special guest cellist Udi Bar-David joins the orchestra for Antonin Dvorak’s Cello Concerto in B Minor. Concluding the show, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony Number 5 in C Minor, is sure to delight experienced concert goers and novice listeners alike.
Tickets for the concert, available day of show, are $18 general admission; $15 for seniors and students. Neumann University students receive free admission as do children 12 and under accompanied by a paying adult. Ample free parking is available.

Schubert Featured By Delco Symphony

The Delaware County Symphony returns to the stage at Neumann University’s Meagher Theater, 3 p.m., tomorrow, Feb. 12.
The 2016 – 2017 season continues with a Chamber Concert featuring several exciting selections and special guests. The program will feature Dasha Bukhartseva and Artist in Residence Jennifer Nicole Campbell on piano for four hands, plus the Academy of International Ballet.
The concert opens with Franz Schubert’s “Fantasy in F Minor”. Next up will be an original composition performed by Jennifer Nicole Campbell entitled “Butterfly Whispers”. Maurice Ravel’s “Three Poems of Mallarme” featuring Katherine Skovira, mezzo-soprano and Smetana’s “Vltava” from Ma vlast round out the afternoon. The concert concludes with the well loved “Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2” by Franz Liszt.
Tickets may be obtained day of show and are $12 each with a special price of $10 for seniors and students. Children under 12, accompanied by a paying adult receive free admission. This is an excellent way to bring the classics to a new generation of listeners.

Dom Giordano USO Holiday Feast 2016 — The 8th Annual Dom Giordano USO Holiday Feast will be 6:30-10 p.m., Dec. 19 at Sonesta Philadelphia Rittenhouse Square, 1800 Market St., Philadelphia, Pa. 19103.
It is a feast with a cocktail reception, exotic hors d oeuvres, salads and antipasti buffets and a dinner with five actions stations with entrees ranging from turkey to steak to roast beef to risotto to salmon wellington.
There will be a variety of desserts including a hot chocolate bar.
And live music.

this Sunday, Dec. 4, at 3 p.m. Featured soloist, flutist Kimberly
Reighley, performs Concerto for Flute and Orchestra by Lowell
Liebermann.
The concert opens with Wolfgang Mozart’s Overture to the Magic Flute.
Rounding out the program is Ottorino Respighi’s Ancient Aires and
Dances Suite No.1 and concludes with Alexander Borodin’s Second
Symphony in B Minor.
Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for students and seniors. As
always, children under 12 admitted free with a paying adult. This is an
excellent way to bring the classics to a new generation of listeners.

The second chamber series concert of the Delaware County Symphony is this Sunday, Nov 20, at 3 p.m. in the Meagher Theater in the Bruder Life Center at Neumann University in Aston, Pa..
The program begins with selections from Tomas Victoria and Thomas Tallis followed by a selection featuring the DCS Brass Ensemble. Next on the program will be a Cello Concerto from Vivaldi then chamber series director Robert Whalen performs on timpani. The concert concludes with Beethoven’s “Ghost” Trio featuring Arnold Ostroff on piano.
Tickets are $12 for adults. Presenting a Delaware County or Montgomery County Library card the day of the show allows the purchase of two adult tickets for the price of one. As always, one child under 12 admitted free with an accompanying paid adult. This is an excellent way to bring the classics to a new generation of listeners.
