Pennsylvania Constitution Online Lecture April 15 — Bill Denison is hosting free online lectures on the Pennsylvania Constitution, every third Friday of the month.

Tomorrow’s, April 15, starts at 7 p.m. and will last to 9:45 p.m. and the subjects will be the legislature, constitutional amendments and the Uniform State Law Commission, which Bill describes as a Chicago-based shadow legislature that introduces bills in every state and that few have heard of them.

Negotiating Salary Is Subject Of Free Workshop — Joseph’s People – Delaware County Chapters will hold, 7 p.m., Feb. 2, the hour-long virtual workshop What to Say in Negotiating Salary.

The event is free. Presenter will be renowned employment coach Elaine Herbert.

Negotiating salary can be intimidating. Topics include how to act when your initial offer is challenged; when you should change your voice; how asking the right questions can make you more confident and successful in capturing the salary.

Remember, you do not get what you deserved, you get what you negotiate.

This workshop shows job seekers how to take an aggressive approach in finalizing the new job offer with no risk of losing the job.

West Chester Griswolds Christmas Light Show — Good friend Kate Rainey has reminded us about a great show of Christmas lights at 304 Dutton Mill Road, West Chester, Pa. 19380.

The family bills it as the West Chester Griswolds and it runs through Jan. 2 lit from 4:45-9:45 p.m., Monday through Thursday; with an extra half-hour longer on weekends.

There is a mailbox at the end of the drive to drop off letters to Santa. Last year 550 were forwarded to the North Pole.

CAP Candidate Training Academy

CAP Candidate Training Academy — Citizens Alliance of Pennsylvania is holding a one-day Candidate Training Academy for those seeking to run in the 2022 primary election.

It’s Jan. 8 in Camp Hill.

The intensive session is for anyone interested in learning what it takes to run a viable campaign and become a citizen legislator. Attendees will be taught how to fundraise, effectively use of social media, craft a campaign message among other things.

Space is limited so those interested should enroll as soon as possible which can be done here.

30th Bill Of Rights Banquet Is Dec 15 — The 30th Bill of Rights Commemorative Banquet will be 6:15 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 15 at Yoder’s Restaurant, 14 S Tower Road, New Holland, Pa 17557.

Tickets are $30 and $20 for children three to 10. Children under three are free.

The the family style meal features round of beef with gravy, broasted chicken, salads and vegetables and a dessert bar.

Slavic Christmas Lunch 2021

Slavic Christmas Lunch 2021 — Holy Myrrh-Bearers Ukrainian Catholic Church’s annual Slavic Christmas and Saint Nicholas Lunch is noon, Sunday, Dec. 5.

On the menu are stuffed cabbage, pierogies, halushki (cabbage with noodles), kielbasi and sauerkraut, ham, home made desserts, beverages and chicken fingers for the children.

There will be a visit from Saint Nick.

Tickets are $20 and $10 for children. It’s free for those 12 and under.

Attendees are asked to bring new socks, gloves, hats, undergarments, thermals for the homeless shelters for the Saint Nick’s basket for the homeless.

Connecting Local Employers With Job Seekers — Joseph’s People – Delaware County Chapters will hold a virtual program on 7-8 p.m., Nov. 9 Connecting Local Employers, Skills and Job Seekers”

Presenter is Gwendolyn Brown, the Workforce Initiatives Manager for Goodwill’s Job Resource Center in Lansdowne. Gwen has been in Workforce Development for Goodwill for six years in Workforce Development and is a Certified Life Coach and Certified Business Engagement Professional.

Gwen grew up in Philadelphia, then lived 11 years in North Carolina where she wrote a monologue that made it into a production.

The Job Resource Center of Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County collaborates with employers and job seekers to create accessibility to successful opportunities. Through the combined efforts of their employment services and placement programs, Goodwill connected over 700 job seekers to employers in 2020. The Job Resource Center’s digital literacy programs equip job seekers to move into better positions in government agencies, healthcare, retail and more.

Leah Hoopes Speaker At Bannon Rally In Bradford County — Leah Hoopes, the principled Delco poll watcher upon whom we have written much, will be among the speakers at the Rally To Save The Republic, Grassroots PA Unite, Saturday, July 10, at the event grounds of Bradford County Commissioner Doug McLinko, 1167 Red Rock Road, Wysox, Pa. 18854.

Gates Open at 9 a.m. with rally starting at 11 a.m., rain or shine, with the National Anthem. Keynote speaker is Steve Bannon. Speaking along with Steve and Leah, will be Sam Faddis, a retired CIA officer, now commentator on intelligence matters; March Finchem, a retired law enforcement officer now serving in the Arizona House and running for Secretary of State of Arizona; Debbie Dooley of Georgia who is national coordinator of Tea Party Patriots, and involved in the scrutiny of the questionable elections in The Peach State; Rick Crump of Kinetic Faith; and Tabitha Valleau of Free Pa.

The event is free. Food will be available and security will be provided. Donnie Malliband will provide music.
