UN Web Resolution Is Little Reported

UN Web Resolution Is Little Reported — A draft of telecommunication regulations was passed, Dec. 11, at the International Telecommunications Union’s (ITU) World Conference held in Dubai.

The ITU is the United Nations specialized agency for information and communications technology.
Here is the draft DT/51-E rev1 as a pdf file.
Most of it seems pretty reasonable with things such as giving priority to distress communications, limiting the ability to tax international messaging to the customers in that country, requiring transparency in pricing and encouraging member states to take steps to prevent the propagation of spam bulk emails.
On the other hand, there are those concerned that it sets a precedent for UN expansion regarding internet governance.
We are inclined to share those concerns.
The resolution, by the way, was opposed by the United States but supported by Cuba, Algeria, Nigeria and Saudi Arabia reports WeeklyStandard.Com.

We Now Support Social Justice

OK, you win. We now support social justice and are promoting a bill to make things right.

We are calling it the “Hey Wendy, Let’s-Tell-It-To-THE-MAN-In-The-Mansion-On-The-Hill-So-We-Can-Stop-Livin’-On-Prayer Social Justice Act.”

We Now Support Social Justice
Bruce Springsteen’s horse farm on the wide open sweeping plains of New Jersey.

What it would do would be to place a 100 percent excise tax on music royalties and concert tickets to soak the 1-percenter greed-pig oppressors.

Why should some be allowed horse farms and to make $150 million offers for football teams yet not everybody?
Revolution, baby.

Hipsters, Reality And Social Justice

For you hipsters out there proclaiming social justice tweet this on your iPad: A riot involving 2,000 persons occurred, Sept 23, at the Chinese Foxconn plant that makes Apple’s flagship products. Hipsters, Reality And Social Justice

Foxconn said it was a mere “personal dispute”.

Internet reports say that the “personal dispute” involved security guards beating some Foxconn workers at an employee dorm.
But everything’s cool in Obama World. The plant opened the next day.

Empty Chairs Symbolic Lynchings

Empty Chairs Symbolic Lynchings — Some guy in Austin, Texas hung an empty chair and the self-proclaimed sensitive ones wailed it symbolized a lynching.

So, what do empty chairs on the back of a bus mean? SEPTA sure does a lot of symbolizing.
Anyway here is a real example of a symbolic lynching:

Corzine Scandal Now Enmeshes Holder

Corzine Scandal Now Enmeshes Holder — The disappearance of $1.6 billion (that’s billion) from prominent derivatives broker MF Global has drawn crickets chirping from federal law enforcement and Brietbart.Com has come up with a likely reason.

The law firm that represented the MFers was Coverton & Burling where Attorney General Eric Holder and Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer worked before being appointed to their law enforcement posts.

Of course, others might simply point out that prosecutorial discretion being exercised is because MF’s CEO when the money vanished was Jon Corzine, a prominent Democrat and money-raiser for Barack Obama who worked as New Jersey governor and senator before taking his derivatives post.

Oh, and the trustee overseeing MF’s bankruptcy is former FBI Director and Penn State scandal investigator Louis Freeh, who served as a character witness at Holder’s confirmation hearing.

Mike Gerber Stepping Down To Take Job At Investment Firm

State Rep. Mike Gerber, who served as the State House Democratic Campaign Committee chairman last cycle, announced Thursday that he is resigning his 148th District (Montgomery County) seat at the end of the term to become senior vice president of public affairs, strategy and product administration at Franklin Square Capital Partners.

Franklin Square, found in 2007, describes itself as enabling investors to tap into the same strategies employed successfully for years by large institutional investors — like pension funds, financial institutions, endowments and high net worth individuals

Just one more Democrat looking out for the little guy. You know, going to the link and looking at the photos of Franklin Square’s management team, well, one can’t say one sees a lot of “diversity” there.

Spanier Gets National Security Gig

Spanier Gets National Security Gig — Graham Spanier, the sexual adventurer who presided over Penn State for 16 years and thought it “humane” to refrain from reporting to police that one-time football assistant coach Jerry Sandusky was molesting children, appears to have been rehabilitated.

At least in the eyes of Washington.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that he was hired by the federal government in April for an “unspecified project in national security

Mugabe Tourism Ambassador UNbelievable

Mugabe Tourism Ambassador UNbelievable  — Zimbabwe “President” Robert Mugabe, who is apparently that nation’s president for life and a known tyrant, has been named an “international tourism ambassador” by the UN World Tourism Organization.

The useful life of the United Nations, assuming it ever had one, has ended.

The 1 Percent Are Democrats

So who is this 1 percent?

According to Bloomberg, the big dogs in the group are entertainment executives who easily eclipse the Wall Street guys.
The top three entertainment barons are Les Moonves, the CEO of CBS Corp.  who got $69.9 million in 2011; David Zaslav of Discovery Communications Inc. who got $52.4 million, and Philippe Dauman at Viacom Inc. who paid $43 million.
Compare that to the top-paid on Wall Street:  Jamie Dimon at JPMorgan Chase & Co, $23 million;. John Stumpf of Wells Fargo & Co., $17.9 million; and Lloyd Blankfein at Goldman Sachs Group Inc.;  $16.2 million.
Even  Brian Roberts and Steve Burke of Philadelphia’s own Comcast would have headed that class with pay  of $27 million and $24 million, respectively, despite pay cuts of 13 percent and 32 percent, respectively  from 2010.
You know just about all these guys were Obama supporters in ’08, right?
