Off The Internet: Democrats’ Chaos

This tells the story of why Bush was so bad at the end of his term.

Don’t just skim over this, it’s not very long, read it slowly and let it sink in. If in doubt, check it out!!!

The day the democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3rd 2007 the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress.

The Democrat Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is “Bush’s Fault”, think about this:

January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress. At the time:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

 The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

George Bush’s Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB GROWTH

 Remember the day…

January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?

 BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!

Unemployment… to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!

Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie – starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy.

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie?

 OBAMA and the Democrat Congress

So when someone tries to blame Bush..

REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007…. THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!”

Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party.

Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 &2011.

In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budgets.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009.

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th.

There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on

Remember Irena Sendler

Irena Sendler Died: May 12, 2008 (aged 98)

Warsaw, Poland During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw ghetto to check for typhus, which the Nazis feared might spread beyond the ghetto.

She had an ulterior motive.

Irena smuggled Jewish infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried.

She also carried a burlap sack in the back of her truck, for larger kids.

Irena kept a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto.

The soldiers, of course, wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.

During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.

Ultimately, she was caught, however, and the Nazi’s broke both of her legs and arms and beat her severely.

Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she had smuggled out,

In a glass jar that she buried under a tree in her back yard.

After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived and tried to reunite the family.

Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.

In 2007 Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was not selected.

Al Gore won, for a slide show on Global Warming.

Later another politician,Barack Hussein Obama, won for his work as a community organizer for ACORN.

In MEMORIAM – 65 YEARS LATER

I’m doing my small part by forwarding this message.

I hope you’ll consider doing the same.

It is now more than 65 years since the Second World War in Europe ended.

This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain,

In memory of the six million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians and 1,900 Catholic priests

Who were murdered, massacred, raped, burned, starved and humiliated!

Now, more than ever, with Iran , and others, claiming the HOLOCAUST to be ‘a myth’.

It’s imperative to make sure the world never forgets,

Because there are others who would like to do it again.

This e-mail is intended to reach 40 million people worldwide!

Please send this e-mail to people you know and ask them to continue the memorial chain.

Please don’t just delete it. It will only take you a minute to pass this along

More Went On Disability Than Got Jobs In June

How great are things in Obamaworld?

Ed Morrisey of Hot Air points out that 80,000 jobs were created in June while 85,000 people left the workforce that month to enroll in the Social Security Disability Insurance Program. He notes that 3.1 million workers signed up for disability benefits since June 2009.
An aside: I heard a radio news report saying that the June job growth was “unexpectedly” low.
Answer me Grasshopper: Can what is always less than expected be unexpected?

Bee Mites Cancel Grange Honey Harvest

Due to an infestation of bee mites and white moths, there will not be a “honey harvest” at the Historic Grange Estate this summer.

However, the Grange beekeepers will hold a “Bee Demonstration,” 1 p.m., July 21, that will include the six new hives — two Russian and four Carniolan hives — recently built and relocated on the property, a visit to the “bee house” to see the tools and clothing used by the beekeepers and observing live bees in a plexiglass box to see how they operate in the hive.

For questions or more information, call the Grange office at 610-446-4958 or e-mail grangeest@verizon.net.

The Historic Grange Estate is at 143 Myrtle Ave., Havertown, Pa. 19083

Off The Internet: Class Always Shows

Courtesy of Judy McGrane

A doctor had his TV on in his office when the news of the military base shootings at Ft. Hood, TX came on. The husband of one of his employees was stationed there.

He called her into his office and as he told her what had happened, she got a text message from her husband saying, “I am okay.” Her cell phone rang right after she read the message. It was an ER nurse, Im the one who just sent you a text, not your husband.
I thought it would be comforting but I was mistaken in doing so. I am sorry to tell you this, but your husband has been shot 4 times and he is in surgery.”

The soldier’s wife left Southern Clinic in Dothan, AL and drove all night to Ft.Hood. When she arrived, she found out her husband was out of surgery and would be OK.  She rushed to his room and found that he already had two  visitors there to comfort him.

He was just waking up and found his wife and the visitors by his side. The nurse took this picture:

What? No news crews and cameras? This is how people with class respond and pay respect to those in uniform.
I sent my cousin in Fayetteville , N.C. (Retired from Special Forces) that picture of Geo. W. visiting the wounded at Ft. Hood . I got this reply:

What is even better is the fact George W. Bush heard about Fort Hood, got in his car without any escort, apparently they did not have time to react, and drove to Fort Hood. He was stopped at the gate and the guard could not believe who he had just stopped. Bush only asks for directions to the hospital then drove on. The gate guard called that “The President is on Fort Hood and driving to the hospital.”

The base went bananas looking for Obama. When they found it was Bush, they immediately offered escort. Bush simply told them it was okay and to let him visit the wounded and the     dependents of the dead.

He stayed at Fort Hood for over six hours, and was finally asked to leave by a message from the White House.

Obama flew in days later and held a “photo opportunity” session in a gym, and did not even go to the hospital.

This Bush/Obama/Ft.Hood story is something that should be sent to every voter in the US . Those who wanted “change”.  You certainly got it.

Bully for Us All

Jim Vanore of Good Writers Block  has written an excellent article on bullying. Here’s an excerpt:

Bullying seems to presently be our culture’s “cause da jour.” Barely a week goes by without someone writing a book about this problem or starting a charity to combat its consequences. And that’s admirable. As far as it goes.
But as is the case with so many of our difficulties, no one I’ve heard thus far is attacking the root cause. If this is a cultural malady, then there’s something festering in our culture. That fester needs more than a Band-Aid. It needs an antibiotic.
Bullying has always been prevalent. But why does it seem so much more common today? Well, I’m going to blame the same culprit that I see as having a bad influence on most of our society—Television, or more broadly: what passes for entertainment today.
Watch most any sit-com long enough and there will be an episode wherein there is an attempt to joke about some poor young soul having to systematically give up his lunch money to the school thug. Anyone who’s ever been in that position knows that’s not funny.
But what do you expect when children rule the roost? That’s exactly what has happened. Before the 1960s, most bullies were eventually dealt with sternly by the adults in their lives: their parents, their teachers, their neighbors…and even some of their victims. Now, sternness (however deserved) of any degree is interpreted as brutality.
There is an episode of the old Dick VanDyke show, that could never be aired today. It’s episode 20 of the first season, broadcast February 7, 1962, and entitled, “A Word A Day.”
Dick asks a clergyman how his father disciplined him as a child, and the clergyman answers, “With an understanding smile and a rap in the mouth.” The line got a big laugh—back in 1962.

The ‘Deskless’ Office Comes To Philly

GlaxoSmithKline, the London-based pharmaceutical firm with historic ties and a strong presence in the Philadelphia area, is not just known for fraud and record-setting fines.

It has developed the “deskless” office which is being pioneered at its Philly area facilities.
The plan is to make cubicles a thing of the past. The floor plan is open with floor-to-ceiling windows and features angled tables and shared workstations for collaboration. Just plug your laptop into one of the monitors. Each employee, by the way, gets a laptop with a built in phone. There are glass-walled rooms for ad hoc meetings, and special no-talking zones.
There is not even an office for U.S. chief Deirdre Connelly.
Employees get lockers for personal possessions.
The company says there has  been a 45 percent increase in the speed of decision making.

Red Light Cameras For The Rest Of The State

HB 254  allowing red light cameras to be used outside Philadelphia has become law and is now Act 84.

The cameras require that PennDOT approve their installation and the signals must have warning signs that cameras have been installed. The cameras are prohibited from being used to take frontal shots and the system must be “incapable of automated or user-controlled remote intersection surveillance.”
Records will be destroyed 30 days after final disposition of cases.
The law also prohibits the  display of license plates in which they are obscured from red light cameras and makes changes to the learner’s permit process regarding motorcycles and declaring that “submission of a certification for (a leaner’s permit) shall not subject the parent, guardian, person in loco parentis or spouse of a married minor to any liability based upon the certification.”
