Abortion Healing Overlooked By Pro Life Movement

Abortion Healing Overlooked By Pro Life Movement — World Net Daily has a profound article concerning a part of the abortion debate often ignored, namely the wounds caused by those who had abortions.

For many abortion is a deep wound that must be healed, says Karen Ellison, the founder of Deeper Still Ministries in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Abortion Healing Overlooked By Pro Life Movement

“People with abortion-wounded hearts are constantly managing the stuffed pain,” she says. “If you don’t have a hope that someone will forgive you and help you heal, your response is more one of anger and defensiveness. You’re not going to let these people take you down.”

Ms. Ellison operates healing retreats for those who had abortions including in China. She notes that 98 percent of abortions happen outside the United States.

The biggest demographic segment at the retreats, she said, are women in their 50s, she said. Women in their 20s who have had an abortion tend to be in denial, but by the time they reach their 40s, “they begin to look back on life and have a lot of regrets.”

She said that when they reach their 60s and 70s, they say: “I don’t want to go to my grave with this on my conscience. Are you telling me there is a way out? Are you telling me I can have peace before I die?”

She also said men attend expressing regret for not fighting for the unborn child.

Ms. Ellison, who was motivated to start her ministry from an abortion she had as a college student, longs for the day when abortion will become not only “illegal but unthinkable.”

It’s a good article. You can read the whole thing here.

Budget Season Bad Ideas

Budget Season Bad Ideas

By Leo Knepper

It’s June in Harrisburg, and that means that the Capitol is teeming with lobbyists trying to convince lawmakers to spend someone else’s money on their client’s causes. Sometimes that takes the form of subsidies like the nuclear power bailout, or the $250 million Race Horse Development Fund. However, bad ideas are not limited to spending tax dollars. One popular, and harmful policy, that continues to pop-up while lawmakers look for horses to trade is an increase in the minimum wage.

A recent article from the Associated Press notes that Republicans in the General Assembly have until now rebuffed efforts to increase the minimum wage. According to the article, there is now some movement among Republicans in the Senate to raise the minimum wage:

“In that chamber, Labor and Industry Committee Chairwoman Camera Bartolotta, R-Washington, is preparing legislation to boost the minimum wage by a ‘cost-of-living increase,’ which she said would protect business owners from crushing new costs.

“She declined to give details.

“Senate Majority Policy Committee Chairman David Argall, R-Schuylkill, said he also supports some sort of minimum-wage increase and that Senate Republicans have discussed the idea of tying an increase to policies to get more people into the workforce and off public assistance programs.”

Lawmakers who advocate increasing the minimum wage are no doubt well-intentioned, but there are always unconsidered, or unintended consequences to their interference in the labor market. One item that is rarely discussed in debates on minimum wage is the simple fact that government-mandated wages, by their nature, interfere with an individual’s freedom of contract. Freedom of contract is a person’s right to bargain and create an agreement without interference. When the government sets a minimum wage, that freedom is diminished.

A second problem with increasing the minimum wage is more practical; it harms the people that the policy change purports to help. The Independent Fiscal Office estimated that raising the minimum wage to $12.00/hour would destroy 33,000 jobs in Pennsylvania. Their report may underestimate the impact substantially. Ontario, Canada increased their minimum wage by 20 percent from 2017 to 2018, and there was a nearly immediate elimination of over 59,000 part-time jobs. Most of the wage proposals being floated would surpass Ontario’s wage increase on a percentage basis.

The real minimum wage is zero. When politicians forget that and try to set wages, they may feel good about themselves, but workers pay the price in lost jobs and decreased hours.

Typhoid Mary William Lawrence Sr Omnibit 5-31-19

Once upon a time, our authorities knew how to handle public health. Mary Mallon, a.k.a. Typhoid Mary, was quarantined twice including the last 23 years of her life. She died in 1938 at the age of 69. She was reputedly a strong woman who put up a heck of a fight when she was finally arrested by police and health department officials after a long search.

Children, wash you hands before cooking.

Black Plague Looms For Los Angeles

Black Plague Looms For Los Angeles — Dr. Drew Pinsky on last night’s (May 30) Ingraham Angle reported that Los Angeles is experiencing medieval diseases such as typhus, typhoid fever, and, notably, the bubonic plague, which killed half of Europe in the 14th century.

Black Plague Looms

“We have a complete breakdown of the basic needs of civilization in Los Angeles,” Pinsky said.

He said airborne disease like tuberculous is exploding.

He said that rat-borne disease is unchecked as L.A. is one of the country’s few major cities that doesn’t have a rodent control program.

There will be a typhus outbreak this summer, he said, and worse.

“I’m hearing from experts that bubonic plague is likely. It’s already here,” he said.

And of course, there is the disease spread by fecal filth in the street like typhoid fever.

“This is not Third World,” he said. “This is medieval. Third World countries would be insulted if they were accused of being like this,

Welcome to the Golden State. Guess that’s what happens in “sanctuary states” that consider unrestricted abortion to be the primary health objective.

Pinsky noted that L.A. is sub-optimally immunized.

“God forbid if measles gets in,” he said.

Questions for all the progressives sneering at the anti-vaxxers: Do unvaccinated illegal immigrants — who exponentially outnumber anti-vaxxers — cause any concern for you?

For laughs, the Los Angeles Times is blaming “climate change” for the looming plague outbreak. Do people really still believe the garbage the establishment media is feeding them?

Stan Casacio Peace Offering To Gales

Stan Casacio Peace Offering — Just heard from the great and influential Stan Casacio, who is seeking to bring peace and unity to Montco after a bitter primary battle for county commissioner.

Stan says he would like to reach out to incumbent Joe Gale who remains angry at the county GOP for dirty deeds done nine days ago.

Gale, as per election-night tallies, was the top Republican vote-getter for the two seats on the Nov. 5 ballot. He ran as a ticket, however, with his brother Sean who finished third behind Fred Conner.

The county GOP claimed it would not make an endorsement but a “green ballot” with a strong resemblance to the official one was distributed at polling places with only Conner’s name. The ballot had been paid for by paid by “Citizens for Conner.”

The Gales think that’s what led to Conner’s victory over Sean.

Stan, who had nothing to do with the ballot and holds no official position with the county party other than committeeman, notes that politics are dirty.

“Jeff (Salvino) is upset because he didn’t think of it first,” Stan says regarding the Gales’ hard-nosed campaign manager.

The three-person board now controlled by Democrats Valerie A. Arkoosh and Kenneth E. Lawrence Jr. is mandated to have one member be of the minority party.

It is a fear that Gale and Conner factions will “bullet-vote” rather than work as a team and go for all the marbles.

“A certain part of the deal has to be trust,” says Stan.

Stan is running for county controller with the party endorsement.

Stan, like Joe, is a proven corruption fighter. Stan took on the Republican establishment at much aggravation and cost to himself when it wasn’t cool to do so. He was instrumental in starting Joe’s campaign four years ago.

Stan says he will back Joe for board chairman and even further, which will become a very real possibility as Joe will get much of the credit if the GOP flips the county.

The Democrat incumbents are beatable. Stan says rank and file members of that party are telling him they are very unhappy with Arkoosh and will not be voting for her, while Lawrence is being dogged by allegations of having committed rape. Yes, we believe Pauline.
