Gerlach Quits Gov. Race

Congressman Jim Gerlach (R-6) announced today he was quitting his gubernatorial bid. Still in the race to represent the GOP in November are front-runner Attorney General Tom Corbett, National Guardsman Rober Allan Mansfield and State Rep. Sam Rohrer (R-128).

The primary is May 18.

There is speculation  that Gerlach will seek re-election in his remarkably gerrymanded district which includes Lower Merion in Montgomery County, Coatesville and Yellow Springs in Chester County, a large section of Berks County and a small part of Lehigh County.

This would not make him a popular fellow among some Republicans.

Businessman Steven Welch and State Rep. Curt Schroder (R-155) are well into raising money for what looks to be an expensive primary battle, and also in the GOP field are businessman Howard Cohen, property-rights advocate Patrick Henry Sellers, Lower Merion Township Commissioner Scott Zelov and Chester County geologist Walt Hufford.

Saudis Have Given Millions To Clinton Foundation Since ’97

Saudis Have Given Millions To Clinton Foundation Since ’97 — Something you probably haven’t seen if you get your news from the dinosaurs is that Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has given between $10 million and $25 million to the Clinton Foundation since 1997. The Foundation  is run by the husband of our Secretary of State.

The group “Friends of Saudi Arabia” has kicked in another $1 million to $5 million.

It’s not as though the old media doesn’t have the room. The Delaware County Daily Times could easily shortened its love notes to Congressman Joe Sestak.  All they really need is a paragraph.

Here:

Violets are blue,
I’m sure you know,
Roses are red,
And so is Joe

Then they could have put in some real news.

Noted Correspondent ‘Cuffed By Seattle Gestapo Wannabees

Michael Yon, probably the respected, most accurate war correspondent on the planet, was handcuffed at the Seattle airport for refusing to tell some border cops how much money he made.

“When they handcuffed me, I said that no country has ever treated me sobadly,” Yon said. “Not China. Not Vietnam. Not Afghanistan. Definitely notSingapore or India or Nepal or Germany, not Brunei, not Indonesia, orMalaysia, or Kuwait or Qatar or United Arab Emirates. No county hastreated me with the disrespect can that can be expected from our borderbullies.”

PSU Profs Tempted Concerning AGW Fraud

An email has been sent to the 27 members of Penn State University’s Earth System Science Center informing them that they stand to reap a sweet reward for providing information to federal authorities regarding anyone they know who may have been fraudulently misusing federal grant funds for climate research.

The whistleblower stands to get $15 million — 30 percent of the $50 million in misused grants.

The center’s director is Michael Mann who is at the heart of the scandal in which leading researchers were found to have destroyed data, publicized conclusions knowingly disregarding facts and marginalized critics using unsavory means to convince the world man-made emissions were causing the world to catastrophically warm.

The email:

Hi,

Greetings and best wishes for a prosperous New Year.

National Search
After the recent whistleblower revelations of emails between climate
researchers and data from the University of East Anglia’s Climate
Research Unit, there are on-going investigations into potential
fraudulent use of grant funds in Climate Research in the US.  I am
assisting interested parties who may have details of fraud in climate
research to make contact with the proper authorities, and to share in
the rewards paid when the funds are recovered.

Whistleblower Rewards Program
The federal government has established vigorous programs to identify
and prosecute fraudulent grant applications and administration.  The US
Department of Justice (DOJ) administers the False Claims Act.  It
allows rewards for those who come forward with details of grant fraud
to share in the recovery of federal funds.  This reward can be as much
as 30% of the total amount reclaimed.  The program is almost completely
reliant on insiders to report their knowledge of the fraud in their
institutions.

Attorney Literally “Wrote the Book” on Fraud Recovery Lawsuits
Joel Hesch, Esq., of Hesch and Associates, literally wrote the book on
how to report federal fraud.  He has an extensive background in
representing whistleblowers in all types of federal funding fraud
cases, including Educational/ Research Grant Fraud.  According to Mr
Hesch: “Many institutions receive grants, whether for research or
educational purposes. When they lie to get the grant or keep the grant
or if they use the funds for purposes outside the grant, they are
liable under the DOJ program. There have been many grant cases brought
by whistleblowers. ”

If you know of anyone who might have details about fraudulent
statements or actions by recipients of federal grant funds for climate
research, please have them contact me immediately at the below email or
cell phone.  Alternatively, they may also contact Mr Hersch directly,
and let him know that they were referred by me.  All communications are
completely confidential.  They may want to consider using a third party
email service (Yahoo, Hotmail, or other) instead of work email to
communicate.

30% of $50 million is more than $12 million.  Ask your friends to do the right thing, and be rewarded for doing it.
Our country, and in fact, the entire world is counting on someone to
stand up and tell the truth about climate research. The effects of
moving forward with taxes and policies based on fraudulent science
could potentially cripple the US economy and cost lives and jobs for
generations.

Look forward to hearing from you.

All the best

Arlen’s Got The Money, I Got The Times

With the closing of embassies in the Middle East, with the airline security system apparently dependent on ad hoc Dutch militia action, and with the unemployment rate at over 10 percent, today’s Delaware County Daily Times devoted a half-page to how Congressman Joe “Arlen’s Got The Money Honey But I Got The Times” Sestak intends to introduce a bill to improve food-recall notices for schools.

Really.

And it’s not as though he’s even introduced the bill. He just said that he intends to.

And newspapers wonder why readers have left.

Hey Joe, think big next time. Tell the Times you intend to introduce a bill to give everyone in Pa. 7 a flying horse to commute to work. They’ll not only print it they’ll praise you for it in an editorial.

New York Sought WTC Back Taxes

New York Sought WTC Back Taxes — An attempt by New York City to try to get $34.8 million in back property taxes for the Twin Towers and two nearby buildings was slapped down, Dec. 9,  by Administrative Law Judge Marlene F. Scwhatz of the city’s Tax Appeals Tribunal.

The city claimed the property was subject to 3.9 percent commercial rent tax through 2005, when the state legislature ended the tax for all properties below Canal Street, and that despite the destruction of the buildings by terrorist on Sept. 11, 2001,  “the airspace that had been surrounded by the buildings still existed.”

Property owner Larry Silverstein pointed out that the government seized control of the entire site in 2001.
