Springfield Police, Wrong Ways, Right Directions

A particular traffic pattern at Springfield and Rolling roads in Springfield, Pa. is confusing and often leads to drivers taking the wrong turn.

One did, today, only to find himself facing a local policeman coming in the opposite direction. The car came to a stop, the officer pulled alongside and a short discussion took place through open windows.

The policeman then pulled away, the driver did a u-turn and matter ended. No ticket.

And that’s how law enforcement is supposed to be.

Bigger Pizza Better Deal

Bigger Pizza Better Deal
Sciarrino’s Pizzeria in Springfield, Pa. stayed open during Hurricane Sandy and, yes, the bigger pizzas were the better deals.

Consumer tip of the day: A 12-inch medium pie has more than twice the pizza of an 8-inch small but is usually just a few dollars more.

The size of the pie is a matter of pi. Halve the diameter then square it and multiply by 3.14 (pi rounded off).

You’ll get 113 square inches of pizza in a 12-inch pie (36 x 3.14) vs 50 square inches in the 8-inch pie (16 x 3.14).
