Stop Rape Activist Arrested On Pedo Rap

Stop Rape Activist Arrested On Pedo RapThe Daily Mail is reporting today (June 27) that Joel Davis, 22,  who chairs the International Campaign to Stop Rape and Gender Violence has been arrested for trying to set up sexual encounters between himself and children as young as two years old, among other things.

Remember what Jesus said about wolves in sheep’s clothing.

The ones who most loudly proclaim their virtue are the least likely to have any.

Here’s a test for those who still read the dying dailies and watch the network news: See how deeply this is covered if at all.

Summer Networking at Joseph’s People

Summer Networking at Joseph’s People

By Kate Rainey

Josephs People Central Delaware County (JPCD) will host a free session, July 17, on Networking Through the Summer. The workshop will be held from 7-8:30 p.m., in the Parish Hall of St. Laurence Church. The church is located at 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, and the entrance to Parish Hall is from the rear church driveway off of St. Laurence Road. All are welcome, regardless of religious affiliation.

Joseph Masek, former President of Masek HR Consulting, will teach how to keep up with your job search, with minimal time investment, while still enjoying summer. He will demonstrate how job seekers can become fully prepared to capitalize on the second busiest hiring month: September. Masek worked over 20 years at Lockheed Martin Corporation in Human Resources. He earned his M.S in Human Resources Management from Widener University. Currently, he volunteers at Nemours A.I. DuPont Hospital within the HR Operations department.

As a job seeker during the summer months, it is easy to slow down your search and lose momentum gained during the spring hiring season. It is often difficult to schedule interviews with your vacation plans, and those of the hiring manager. There are often distractions and seasonal chores to take care of around the house. Falling into a slower pace, however, may mean competition will beat you by getting your dream job.

If you need to land employment before September, hiring does happen during summer. Mr. Masek will give you clues how you can find job leads where few others are looking.

JPCD is a joint program of Media Presbyterian Church and St. Laurence Church in Upper Darby. The group has an active, free forum on LinkedIn, named Josephs People of Central Delaware County-Free Job Search Groupin the LinkedIn directory. To join, send a request and an email will be generated confirming membership.

JPCD is affiliated with Josephs People, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping unemployed and underemployed workers. Local, affiliated chapters provide networking opportunities, guidance and emotional support to job seekers and career changers. For more information, send a message through the LinkedIn group listed above, visit www.josephspeople.org or email contactus@josephspeople.org.

Nelson Aldrich was among the most powerful American politicians between 1881 and 1911 when he served as senator from Rhode Island. It was his grandson Robert who would go on to find true greatness, however, directing the film The Dirty Dozen in 1967.

Pennsylvania Budget Goes To Wolf

Pennsylvania Budget Goes To Wolf — The  Pennsylvania Senate, today, June 22, passed a  $32.7 billion general fund budget sending it to Gov. Wolf for his expected signature. The vote was 47-2.

The State House approved it Wednesday 188-10.

There are no tax or fee increases in the budget and the spending increase of 1.7 percent is below the rate of inflation at 2.1 percent, said State Rep. Alex Charlton (R-165).

“I voted in favor of this, as it invests at a record-setting level in education; including basic education, special education, pre-K, higher education, EITC programs, and career and technical education programs,” he said.

The budget allocates $100 million for education investments, such as a $25 million boost to early childhood education funding and an additional $15 million for special education funding. An additional $30 million was made to prepare students and workers for in-demand jobs.

“I was pleased with the commitment to enhance and prioritize public safety in this year’s plan,” Charlton said. “The state’s struggling ambulance companies will see a boost in Medicaid reimbursement rates as well. Under House Bill 2121, an additional $4 million in state funds and approximately $8 million in federal matching funds would be used to increase reimbursements for Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) services.”

The budget also includes funds to help protect communities by training more state police troopers, caring for those with intellectual disabilities and supplying services for families affected by the opioid crisis, Charlton said.

It should be noted that more the 60 percent of state spending is done through “shadow budgets” that are not part of the General Fund.
