Chesco GOP Tribunal Fizzles

Chesco GOP Tribunal Fizzles — A Chester County Republican tribunal scheduled for last night, Aug. 3, fizzled when none of the committeewomen accused of being bad girls in the May 16 primary election showed.

Veronica Pidge of 405 precinct in East Nottingham simply wrote them and said she wasn’t going.

Nancy Gifford of 356 precinct in East Marlborough South told them she would be out of town and was given a continuance.

Donna Ellingsen of 215 precinct in Elk Township asked for a continuance to gather witness statements but was refused.

So she declined to attend.

She suspected the matter had already been decided.

The issue appears to concern a sample ballot the women distributed that didn’t included a couple of candidates endorsed by the county party.

Donna said any sample ballot would have been paid for by each individual and the candidates who may have been left off were people they did not feel comfortable endorsing.

In some cases, some names may have fallen through the cracks and some mistakes were caught in time, she said.

She notes that it isn’t definitively stated in the Chesco bylaws that committeepeople have to back a particular candidate in a primary election — what are primaries for after all? — as long as they back the winning candidate in the general.

That this is allowed is spelled out in the state GOP bylaws.

She further points out that the county GOP neglected to provide their own official sample ballots in time leaving the committeepeople to have to pay for their own.

The women are some of the most popular and successful committeepeople Chesco has, and their areas are among the tops in turnout for the GOP.

  1. It’s time to make a real change in GOP leadership. How dare they try to coerce committee people and voters to vote and support their choice which is often RINOs who play their game!!!

  2. Can anyone be as good at losing elections as the Chesco GOP by accident? Doesn’t it follow that by tainting their most successful committee people, they could keep up their losing ways? And why be so good at losing, we GOP voters ask…this obviously does not serve voters, so how does this serve the elites, we might ask ourselves. Could it be that GOP “power players” (apparently never elected, occasionally appointed, often unnamed, frequently monied) and their business interests benefit via the prearranged outcomes (with those who should be their opponents) they deliver, essentially making Pennsylvania a “uniparty” state under such an imagined scenario? I am just a simple voter and only speculating, but isn’t it time for ALL to recognize THE ROLE OF THE PARTY IS TO ENSURE POWER FLOWS (UNHINDERED) FROM THE BOTTOM–THE VOTERS–UP! Your jobs, Raffi Terzian and Larry Tabas, are to empower US, so why are you asking ridiculous questions of the wrong people? Do you really think voters are blind and stupid? We the People are left wondering and mistrusful of the GOP, the government, the country…fertile ground for ruin. And we have long memories…

      1. I repeat, Committee people: …”The power resides in YOUR voter-elected status, so time to elect new leadership? If YOU can’t, don’t or won’t, it’s my opinion that the next presidential election will herald the end of the R party and democracy as we have known it. Focus on WHERE the power resides and find the courage to use it.”
Trump won when he did because–for better or for worse, that’s NOT the matter at hand–a majority of voters saw the COURAGE to stand for The People, not the elites. CHESCO R Committee people, show NOW (in visible ways including dumping the Area Chairs aligned with Raffi, to start…a “no confidence” vote) that you are unafraid to ACT. Prep to gain back our trust and actually WIN an election…SIGNS OF LIFE, PLEASE! Power IS in your hands if you show no fear of those “others” who think they can make you and Raffi dance…works the same in all counties.

  3. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The division mounts as the links of tyranny get added one at a time. We The People have abdicated our power as the 4th branch of government. We are unwilling to hold anybody accountable where it matters most because we don’t have people to replace them with the integrity to advocate for We The People. I accept that threats, intimidation, coercion, duress, money, blackmail are illegal in a court of law. However it is the non-partisan infection of all public servants where very few have been inoculated.

    1. Human nature is human nature. In a culture increasingly devoted to self-affirmation of all kinds and elimination of the God who strenthens and protects and also holds to standards we cannot reach alone, those who pander to our worst nature increasingly win. Nothing is perfect where human nature exists without Godly support. Many appear to have lost their foresight, accountability, and courage to demand, give and get better. It is increasingly obvious that some (?)/many(?) of the “government class”–reaping greater benefits packages and higher salaries in increasing numbers under a Democratic Party devoted to the growth of big government–will prosper while American’s problems go unsolved, the reason a functional two party system is critical. Full circle…real power still resides with R committee people (from the voter UP). Time to use it? Raffi and Larry: Time to fear losing the confidence of your committee people and not trying pressure tactics on them? Committee people: The power resides in YOUR voter-elected status, so time to elect new leadership? If YOU can’t, don’t or won’t, it’s my opinion that the next presidential election will herald the end of the R party and democracy as we have known it. 1. The heart is deceitfully wicked and the nature of man is depraved. Expecting wicked acts should be the default position. Celebrate humans who rebel against their nature. Liars will lie, thieves will steal, those who covet will continue to covet. Only the redeemed have access to revelation to rebel and be accountable to their nature. We all can benefit from being humbled and avoid to possible humiliation. The ultimate awareness of being humiliated might be in darkness but even that was a choice. The idolatry of self is like an Asher pole. #JustSayin ❤️
