Pennsylvania Ranks Low For Business

Every year tax dollars are used to bribe businesses to come to or stay in Pennsylvania. The General Assembly, the Governor, and local governments may call it “economic development” but it’s another version of engaging in central planning for economic growth. Based on lackluster job growth, and an ever-dwindling population you would think that our elected officials would have learned their lesson after fifty years of failure; they haven’t.

For evidence of their failure, look no further than the Commonwealth’s rank in terms of overall business tax climate. According to the Tax Foundation’s latest analysis, Pennsylvania ranks thirty-fourth out of the fifty states for business taxes. An article from Watchdog.org gives a good breakdown of the methodology used in the comparison:

“The analysis examined more than 100 variables involving the states’ primary methods of taxation: corporate taxes, individual income taxes, sales taxes, unemployment insurance taxes and property taxes. Many of the top-rated states lack one of those five major taxes, but a few apply all the taxes with low rates and broad bases.

“Pennsylvania ranked No. 43 for its corporate tax; No. 18 for its individual income tax; No. 21 for its sales tax; No. 34 for its property tax; and No. 46 for its unemployment insurance tax.”

Our poor tax climate, an overly-burdensome regulatory environment, and a reputation as a place ripe for lawsuit abuse all combine to put Pennsylvania at the bottom of the list as far as a place to start a new business. If the legislature were really interested in fostering economic growth in the Commonwealth, lawmakers would make a concerted effort to move Pennsylvania into the top ten states to do business.

GOP Legislators Twisting Arms For Establishment Endorsements

GOP Legislators Twisting Arms For Establishment Endorsements — A little birdie told us that Republican state legislators are calling members of the GOP State Committee — you all know who your state committee person is right? — to pressure them into backing establishment tools Megan King and Kate Harper for State Superior Court.

Two seats are being contested for 10-year terms on the court which is theintermediate appellate court for most matters in the state.

Ms. King and Ms. Harper were overwhelmingly rejected in the caucus straw polls in favor of Christylee Peck and Rebecca Warren.

The primary election is May 21.

The committee’s endorsement meeting is 10 a.m., Saturday. It will be streamed live on PCNTV. It has not been ascertained if the ballots will be secret or open. Contact your State Committee person — you can find them here, just click on the county — and let them know you’ll be watching.

Unless you like being a serf, your choice should be Christylee Peck and Rebecca Warren.

Government Protected Child Porn

Government Protected Child Porn — There is a national crisis of federal employees engaged in the child porn industry and a related epidemic at the state level.

That’s what Forbes magazine reported in September 2012.

The writer, Lori Handrahan, said she documented two states, Vermont and Maine, that appear to be running state protected child trafficking rings with evidence of cops, judges, lawyers, clergy and government employees covering for each other. This kind of racketeering creates powerful, and extremely profitable, pedophile rings.

Any media types joining in? Hasn’t been a lot of coverage of this.

The Daily Beast in March 2015 carried the story The Sickening Child Porn Crisis Infecting U.S. Government Agencies but mostly crickets.

Maybe that’s changing. This month, three devastating exposes were unveiled in strongly left-leaning venues revealing child abuse by entertainment industry cash cows. Surviving R. Kelly, was released Jan. 3 on Lifetime; Nobody’s Going To Believe You concerning A-list director Bryan Singer, was published Jan. 23 on The Atlantic’s website; and Leaving Neverland concerning Michael Jackson was released Jan. 25 at Sundance Film Festival.

Granted, it’s low-hanging fruit as all three subjects have been long been rumored to be abusers but the flurry is notable.

We suspect more reveals are coming regarding the entertainment world. We suspect reveals are coming too concerning judges, lawyers and government employees.

Drug Cartels Control Pelosi?

Drug Cartels Control Pelosi? — A former Democrat from Arizona is saying his state’s politicians are under the thumb of the Mexican cartels and this control extends to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi from lovely California.

Why else would she be fighting the Border Patrol?

Jeffrey Peterson, a tech entrepreneur who was picked by then Gov. and future Secretary of Homeland Security  Janet Napolitano for state’s influential  Arizona-Mexico Commission, implies this drug money is the main reason why Speaker Pelosi is fighting tooth-and-nail against President Trump’s proposed border wall.

It certainly makes you think. Perhaps a special counsel is needed to look into this.

Seriously, why is there so much fuss about giving the Border Patrol what they want?

In-Q-Tel Is CIA Venture Fund

ZeroHedge.com back on Jan. 12 carried a fascinating article on In-Q-Tel, an influential venture fund started in 1999 that sits on many Wall Street boards. It was instrumental in starting Google and Facebook.

In-Q-Tel
The Q in In-Q-Tel

It’s funded by the CIA.

Was the tax appropriation for this commercial subsidy and market involvement — wonder how MySpace and AltaVista feel — spelled out by Congress?

Doubt it. Did you know that our government has apparently spent $21 trillion off the books since 1998?

For what it’s worth, that’s about what our national debt is for which we are paying $365 billion in interest, expected to increase to $447 billion next year.

We’re just reporting this to make you feel warm and comfortable that you have a Big Brother looking out for you.

The Q in In-Q-Tel  is an intentional reference to Q, the fictional inventor who supplies technology to James Bond.
