Dem Incumbent Refusing Debate In 161st District
By Bob Small
Pennsylvania’s 161st State House District consists of Aston; Chester Township; Nether Providence; the 1st District of Middletown along with the 1st and 2nd divisions of its 2nd; the 2nd and 7th wards of Ridley, along with the 1st and 3rd divisios of its 1st Ward and the 1st Division of the 5th Ward; and the boroughs of Brookhaven, Rose Valley and Upland.
Incumbent Democrat is Leanne Kruger formerly Leanne Kruger-Braneky.
Ms. Kruger has a BA from Rutgers and an MA from Eastern.
She has declined to debate her Republican opponent, John Mancinelli.
It seems the Democrat Representatives are unable or unwilling to debate their Republican House challengers.
She had previously worked at The Business Alliance for Local Living Economies and was the first executive director of the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia.
Mancinelli works for A. Town Properties, a real estate company. An Astonian, he has a St. Joe’s Bachelor degree in marketing and a Master’s degree from Neumann College in Sports Management.
He is also co-owner of Manbroso’s To Go, an Aston pizza shop being rebuilt due to a fire.
He was previously a member of Delco Young Republicans and a board member with CIAO Delco, which supports Italian-American Culture in Delco.
John Mancinelli says his key values are: economic growth and job creation; fiscal responsibility, limited government and public safety.
If one lives in this district, wouldn’t you want to hear a debate between the two contenders? Just saying.
