Sen. Dianne Feinstein, a liberal California Democrat, and sen. Mike Lee, a tea party Utah Republican have formed an alliance to push a bill to amend the National Defense Authorization Act which would block the power of the president to hold American citizens without trial.
Their bill is “to clarify that an authorization to use military force, a declaration of war or any similar authority not authorize the detention without charge or trial of a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States.”
Betcha didn’t think that needed clearing up.
