Brandywine Open Space Music Fest

Brandywine Open Space Music Fest — Ten bands and craft beer are slated for Open Space Music Festival which runs noon through the evening, tomorrow, Aug. 10 at the Newlin Grist Mill, Cheyney Road and Baltimore Pike in Concord Township, Glen Mills, 19342.

There will be great food, pony rides for kids and face painting.

Tickets are $20 now and $25 at the gate.There will be great
music from 10 different bands, craft beer, and good food. Kids under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult.

Proceeds will be used to help fund the attempt to save 324 acres of open space on the Beaver Valley Conservancy along Beaver Valley Road and Route 202 in Concord.

Spy Who Sketched Me

Spy Who Sketched Me — Photographer Celeste Giuliano, who specializes in pin ups, will be joining sketch artist Dr. Sketchy’s Philly for an exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, 7 p.m., June 19 entitled “The Spy Who Sketched Me.”

It’s a “pay as you wish” event.

Walk For The Wounded Is Sat

The 5th Annual Walk For The Wounded which benefits wounded soldiers and their families is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 18 at Rose Tree Park on Route 252 in Upper Providence Township.

Speaker is Brigadier Gen. Andrew Shafer, Jr. and activities include a 9-hole mini golf course, helicopters, moon bounce, games, military vehicles and food.

There will be a special ceremony to honor Seal Team 3 Chief Chris Kyle, the decorated marksman
and author of the  best selling book “American Sniper” who was killed by
a  veteran with mental issues that he was trying to help.,

All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast

The Women’s Auxiliary of American Legion Manoa Post 667 will host an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, April 21 at the post, 1112 Steel Road, Havertown, Pa. 19083. Five dollars will get you buttered pancakes smothered in warm maple syrup, hot sausage, orange juice and coffee.

Proceeds benefit the group and its many charitable endeavors.

CAFe Fest To Feature Music, Kid Art Classes

CAFe Fest To Feature Music, Kid Art Classes — CAFe, the community arts festival hosted by InLiquid, is 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 17 at the Crane Arts Building, 1400 N. American St., Philadelphia.

InLiquid is a non-profit organization serving artists. Among its features is an extensive online collection of work by local, national and international artists.

Sunday’s family-friendly art fest will include fun kids art classes and education concerning environmental matters.

Participants include Art Star, The Clay Studio, Greensgrow Farms, and Please Touch Museum.

There will be  live music and food vendors from across Philadelphia.

Proceeds will benefit youth art programs around the city, like The Cruz Recreation Center in Fishtown and ArtsRising’s new “ArtsZone” hubs at middle schools throughout the city.
