Fortunately, the pilot survived, parachuting out.
Unfortunately, the pilot had a date that night and was wearing his dress uniform and carrying a bottle of whiskey.
Fortunately, the managed to get him off the beach and back to England.
Whether he made his date is unknown.
Barrett would go on to raise a family in Havertown, Pa. and become a newsman with the Philadelphia Bulletin.

Olympic gold medal swimmer Ryan Lochte training meals consisted of McDonalds Big Breakfast for breakfast; Chicken McNuggets, double cheeseburgers and Big Macs for lunch and dinner with fries for dinner.
This was more variety than the training meals of Olympic gold medal sprinter Usain Bolt which was 1,000 Chicken McNuggets a day. And fries.
