Dogs Dying In Ardmore
By Sharon Devaney
My beloved Herbie died in July 2023.
Herbie was a shitzu/westie mix, weighed maybe 12 pounds and lived on Saint Mary’s Road in the Ardmore section of Haverford Township, Pa.
He was a rescue and about eight years old.
The death came after a series of sudden sicknesses with symptoms including coughing, vomiting and fluid around the heart.
My vet could not determine the cause.
His sister, Luna, suffered the same afflictions.
Luna has survived but I had to put Herbie to sleep on his third visit.
I’ve moved from the neighborhood but keep in touch with those who still live there.
I have learned that the same thing has recently happened to one of my former neighbor’s dogs, Frisky and Buffy.
Frisky and Buffy had bloody stools and had been vomiting.
Is somebody irresponsibly using rat poison?
Dogs are like family. The township must investigate.
