Media Tables Leafblower Ordinance After Logistical Issue Pointed Out— Mike Straw and the Media Borough Republicans note that Borough Council has tabled its proposed ordinance for restrictions for gas-powered leafblowers from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Numerous members of the public provided comment via email and in-person to alert Council that enforcing this law would require those reporting infractions occuring between 8 and 8:30 to the police as the borough office doesn’t open until 8:30 a.m.
This would mean that the officers would need to attend the Magisterial District Court hearings for these violations and and that would mean the borough has to pay overtime cost.
The council chose to table the ordinance to retool the ordinance in the future.

This is a dumb ordinance. Thank goodness the people came out and gave their elected officials an earful.
