Christmas Towns In Pa Top List

Bethlehem, Pa. at Christmas Time.

Impulcity.com has named the top 17 Christmas towns and Bethlehem, Pa is number 1.

“Bethlehem has gained its name of “Christmas City U.S.A.” because it’s completely dedicated to keeping big business out of the holiday season, and sticking to original Christmas traditions,” Impulcity says. “It seems like there’s something going on every day of December to get people into the holiday spirit.”

Impulcity specifically cites Christkindlmarkt and the “epic” gingerbread competitions.

It should also be noted that Paradise, Pa. in Lancaster County ranks number 5.

“It holds the National Christmas Center of America, which even has its own store and 20,000 square feet of exhibits,” says Impulcity.

Elizabeth Stelle of Comonwealth Foundation published an article on Dec. 2 in which she points out that only Texas would make the top five with regard to economic freedom if one includes the provinces of Canada.

That’s heartbreakingly embarrassing.

Pennsylvania would rank 30th on the continent.

She says that more economic freedom translates to a $7,000 boost in income per person.

She says that the study shows that the most-free states averaged $55,000 per-capita in 2012 gross domestic product compared to roughly $48,000 for the least-free states.

Rob Duncan’s Gunfight Epiphany

Here’s another TV theme song that should have been a hit. It’s by Rob Duncan and called Gunfight Epiphany and was used as the theme to Terriers, an under-rated detective show that ran for 13 episodes in the Fall of 2010 of FX.

We were able to catch it on Netflix. It is worth watching.

Colleen Bell Named Ambassador To Hungary

A woman named Colleen Bell was picked by President Obama to be America’s ambassador to Hungary and was confirmed by the still Democrat-controlled Senate, yesterday, Dec. 2.

The vote was 52-42.

Why I Want to Live in Budapest for a Year or More

I’m “Hungary” to spend some time in Budapest (LOL) as part of the U.S. government’s Obama Bundlers Abroad program (that part’s also a joke). While I’ve never been a diplomat, I did earn a diploma in high school and college. I hope this essay is good enough to win Senate confirmation.

As a soap opera producer, I bring a world of experience to the task of serving as the U.S. Ambassador to Hungary. My show, “The Bold and the Beautiful,” is seen in more than 100 countries, so they probably know of me already.

Because of my job on the soap opera, I know more than most people do about the challenges of building solid, long-lasting, mutually-satisfying relationships — or at least about pretending to do so.

But if all I had to recommend me was a history of creating high-quality treacherous relationship stories for daytime TV, I could understand how you might be reluctant to send me overseas as the president’s emissary, and the official face of America.

So, you’ll be glad to know that I’m also a campaign bundler for the president, having raised millions of dollars to assure myself an appointment as ambassador. (Just kidding.)

My wealth of experience making phone calls to wealthy Liberals will serve me well in Budapest, as I’m sure they probably have wealthy Liberals over there too, and maybe even telephones. I even hosted a dinner for the president at my house and got Foo Fighters to perform there. If Hungarian government officials haven’t heard of Foo Fighters yet, they’re really good.

Finally, as if all of that were not enough to secure my confirmation, I’ve also been told that I’m an attractive woman. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have mentioned that, but when you’re trying to show the world America’s best face, it never hurts to actually have a nice face.

Christmas Candle Screening

The Delaware County Patriots will hold a screening of “The Christmas Candle”, Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Marple Library, 2599 Sproul Road, Broomall, Pa. 19008.

The movie is a Rick Santorum Production. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 6:15 p.m. There will be an intermission.

“Come early to chat and chew,” says organizer Cathy Craddock. “Feast on hearty appetizers and desserts.”

Those attending are encouraged to bring something of their own. The event is free but donations are always helpful.

That might change.

Better Call Saul, the prequel to Breaking Bad that starts on AMC in February has one performed by Junior Bown that might be do it.
