Swarthmore GOP Presents Curt Weldon Former Congressman Curt Weldon will be the guest of the Swarthmore Republican Party, 7 p.m., Sept. 24 at the Inn at Swarthmore, 10 S. Chester Road.
In addition to his 20 years of service in the U.S. House of Representatives (1987–2007) for Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District (now the 5th District), Curt Weldon has built a remarkable career as a firefighter, fire chief, teacher, and advocate for first responders.
He is the author of Awakening the Sleeping Giant (2017), which highlights his decades-long effort to empower firefighters and first responders worldwide; and Countdown to Terror (2005), which recounts critical intelligence warnings ignored by the CIA.
He is also the subject of the 2021 documentary Firefight, which follows his journey from small-town fire chief to the halls of Congress.
