Vet Needs Help With Medical Bills

A beef and beer will be held to support Charles Hardin, Sept. 8, at The Ryan Pub, 3234 Red Lion Road, Philadelphia, Pa. 19114.

Chares  is a sveteran and Gold Star Father, who has been battling stage 4 colon cancer for two years. He suffered a stroke on Aug. 3 and his medical bills are becoming insurmountable.   

The event is being hosted by Combat Vets Association and Ryans Pub.

 Tickets are $30 by Sept. 2  or  $35 at the door.

When The Mighty Fall

The once-so-cool Blackberry which was the smartphone leader two years ago with a 30 percent share has fallen to 13 percent and expected to dip to 7 percent two years from now. Its users have migrated to Apple’s iPhones which rose from 24 percent to 33 percent, and to phones using Google’s Android operation system which rose from 20 percent to 43 percent.

Massive Police Reform In Camden

The police department for one of the nation’s most dangerous cities has been disbanded due to budget woes and maybe things might get better.

It wasn’t as thought the existing structure was keeping the streets safe in Camden, N.J.
The city will now be patrolled by a new — and non-union — division of the Camden County Police.
When things are as broken as they were in Camden the only really stupid thing to do would be nothing.
Fewer than half of the city’s 460 police officers will be transferred to the new department who will join new officers.
Camden has a population of about 77,000. Compare that to Upper Darby, Pa., — not so far away and bordering West Philadelphia without the luxury of major river border  – which has a population of 81,000 and 135 police officers.

Philly Area Tea Party To Have Presence At Convention

The Independence Hall Tea Party PAC,  the first Tea Party PAC in the nation to endorse Governor Mitt Romney for President, which happened on Jan. 2 on the eve of the Iowa Caucus will be represented at the Republican National Convention which runs from today (Aug. 27) though Thursday by its president, Don Adams.

The Independence Hall Tea Party PAC  is the only Tea Party political action committee that serves the Delaware Valley.
