Al Jazeera Hired Palin Said WaPo LOL

The Washington Post was once the most respected newspaper in the world. It’s ombudsman, Patrick Pexton, just apologized for a story it ran claiming that Sarah Palin was hired by Al Jazeera America.

Reporter Suzi Parker read the claim on the satirical website “The Daily Current” without realizing it was a joke. It went past her editor Melinda Henneberger as well.

Pexton will be leaving the paper March 1 and there are no indications that he will be replaced. Miss Parker and Miss Henneberger, however, appear to be remaining.

BTW, the Post, which is a mouthpiece for the Democratic Party, hence a voice of the “little guy”, “working man” etc. has just laid off several dozen people on the business end. What hypocritical greed. Why couldn’t its filthy rich Democrat owners take a cut in pay to save these jobs, hmmm?

In other news, the Post is looking to sell its iconic downtown office building.

Why not just close the whole thing? When it reports as fact things that were written to be unbelievable, and laughable, fiction, then there is not much point to its existence as a reliable conveyor of information.

Worst Month For Walmart

Walmart Vice President Jerry Murray sent an internal email, Feb. 12, that some nasty person made public

“In case you haven’t seen a sales report these days, February (month-to-date) sales are a total disaster,” wrote Murray. “The worst start to a month I have seen in my (about) 7 years with the company.”

It appears that the recent hike in payroll taxes is dragging down sales for discount retailers like Wal-Mart as lower-income shoppers have less to spend.

Delco Pats Legislative Update

Regina Scheerer of the Delaware County Patriots has sent out this legislative bulletin:

Our US Senator Pat Toomey, along with Senator David Vitter of Louisiana, introduced legislation to create a Constitutional amendment that limits the terms of US Congressmen and Senators.
The limit would be 3 two-year terms for US Representatives and 2 six-year terms for US Senators.
If you support such legislation, please email our Senators Toomey and Casey, and our Representative Pat Meehan, to voice that support.
Senator Pat Toomey’s website,www.toomey.senate.gov/ and then click “Contact”.
Senator Bob Casey’s website,  http://www.casey.senate.gov/ and then click “Contact”.
Representative Pat Meehan’s website, http://meehan.house.gov/ and click “Contact Me”.

Our Governor Tom Corbett will propose to the State Legislature that Pennsylvania end its running of liquor stores.
Pennsylvania is one of only 2 states that still run its own liquor stores and that is not a government function.
The money generated by the sale of the liquor stores and businesses, more that $1 billion, would go to block grants to local school districts, and the retraining and placement of any state store employees not taken on by the private sector.
The money to the school districts would make up for lack of money in recent Federal and State budgets.
The State Pension System could also use some of that money to relieve the taxpayers of the burden of funding the state pensions.
If you support such legislation, please email Governor Corbett, State Representative Bill Adolph, and State Senator Ted Erickson, to voice that support.
