Mandalay Bay Gun Free Zone, CAIR Supporter — Noted sports handicapper, television producer, political activist and long-time Las Vegas resident Wayne Allyn Root, has interesting questions and observations regarding the Oct. 1 Route 91 Harvest festival shooting.
Mandalay Bay, the hotel-casino from where the killer fired his shots, is a gun-free zone.
Including the security guards.
Root says that when the facility was acquired by MGM Resorts International one of the first acts by CEO Jim Murren was a gun ban for guests and the disarming of most of the security guards.
Root also noted that MGM Resorts lets high-roller clients use the service elevators, a policy not allowed at other Vegas hotels.
Root also notes that if the shooting is called a criminal act rather than a terroristic one, MGM might save millions in insurance payouts.
MGM Resorts is a major contributor to liberal causes including Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). It has partnered with Dubai World and has projects in the Middle East.
Root says that Murren was appointed by Barack Obama to Homeland Security Council albeit we think he means the National Infrastructure Advisory Council which is tasked with advising the president on security of the critical infrastructure sectors and their information systems.
Root also notes that from July through September Murren sold off more than 80 percent of his MGM stock and that there was $200 million in insider selling from officers and directors of MGM in September.

Because “white” objects don’t reflect but scatter.
The objects we see as white are rough and absorb the light waves. They bounce around a bit beneath the surface via material that acts as prisms then comes back to your eyes. If snow, sugar, clouds and painted walls were perfectly smooth then they would reflect the light back as do mirrors.

Pope Gives Worldly Warning — (From Vatican Radio) Only Christ crucified will save us from the demons that make us “slide slowly into worldliness“, saving us also from the “stupidity” that St. Paul talks about to the Galatians, and from seduction. This was central message of the homily of Pope Francis at his Mass, Friday morning, at the Santa Marta residence in the Vatican. He was reflecting on the episode in Luke’s Gospel where Jesus casts out a demon, which some people interpret as through power of the devil.
Watchfulness against Devil’s stealth
The Pope said the Lord asks us be watchful in order not to enter into temptation. This is why a Christians have to be awake, watchful and careful like a sentinel. Jesus was not narrating a parable but was stating a truth, i.e when the unclean spirit comes out of a man, he roams about in abandoned places looking for refuge and not finding any, decides to return to where he came from, where the freed man lives. Hence the demon decides to bring in “seven other spirits worse than him.” Pope Francis emphasized the word “worse”, saying it has much force in the passage because the demons enter quietly.
Worldliness
The demons thus start being part of the man’s life. With their ideas and inspirations, they help the man to live better and entering his life and heart and start changing him from within, but quietly without making any noise. This method is different from the earlier diabolic possession which was strong, the Pope explained, adding this time it a diabolic possession, something like in a “living room”. The devil slowly changes our criteria to lead us to worldliness. It camouflages our way of acting, which we hardly notice. And so, the man, freed from the demon, becomes a bad man, a man burdened by worldliness. And that’s exactly what the devil wants – worldliness, the Pope stressed.
Worldliness, Pope Francis explained, is a spell, a seduction, because the devil is the “father of seduction”. When the devil enters “so sweetly, politely and takes possession of our attitudes,” the Pope said, our values pass from the service of God to worldliness. Thus we become “lukewarm Christians, worldly Christians”, a mixture, something that the Pope described as a “fruit salad” of the spirit of the world and the spirit of God. All this distances us from the Lord, the Pope said and stressed that the way to avoid it by being vigilant and calm without alarm.
Christ crucified who saves
Watchful means understanding what goes on in my heart, the Pope said, adding, “ It means stopping for a while to examine my life, whether I a Christian, whether I educate my children, whether my life is Christian or worldly?” And one understands this, as Paul points out, by looking at Christ crucified. One understands where worldliness lies and is destroyed before the Lord’s cross. The Crucifix saves us from the charms and seductions that lead us to worldliness.
The Holy Father exhorted Christians to examine themselves whether they look up to Christ crucified, whether they pray the Way of the Cross in order to understand the price of salvation, not just from sins but also from worldliness. The examination of conscience, the Pope said, is done always before Christ crucified, with prayer, after which one has to break loose from one’s comfortable attitudes, through works of charity, visiting the sick, helping someone in need and so on. This breaks the harmony and the spiritual worldliness that the demon together with seven others tries to create in us, the Pope added.

Onion Tomato Soup Makes A Delicious Fall Meal — This fusion of French onion and comfort tomato soup will warm your heart on the coldest autumn day.
Heat a tablespoon of oil in a stock pot and add a tablespoon of garlic. Add a large diced onion and a healthy helping of parsley (or basil or whatever fresh herb you have) and sauté.
Quarter a generous amount of tomatoes — nine delicious garden fresh ones in our case — and season heavily with salt. Dumb to do it that way? Smart? Doesn’t matter that’s what we did.
Put the tomatoes in the pot and and cover them with water. Throw in a beef bullion cube along with some pepper and paprika. Bring to a boil, then lower to a simmer and leave it be for an hour or so then take a hand blender to it. If one should be sans hand blender one should use a food processor but that will increase the aggravation factor and start taking the fun out.
Return the soup to the simmer and cut some slices of nice Italian or French bread. Put it at the bottom of an oven safe bowl and cover with cheese. Nicely meltable American works fine. Fill the bowl with the hot soup and put another slice on top. If you wish you can put it in the microwave for 10 seconds to speed up the melting.
Eat. It’s a yum.
