Ukrainian Catholic Priest Father Ighor Fedoryshyn, who is pictured at a camp near the front lines in his embattled homeland, has sent the following message (translated using Google) via John Jushchyshyn of Upper Darby, Pa.

Glory to Jesus Christ.

Sir Ivan, I was again in Kiev, praying in the street of the dead heroes posvyachuvav hundred self-defense. Ukraine and Ukrainian continue their struggle for the independence of our country.

I am chaplain “right market” that the most active in this fight is not easy. Six weeks back I want to go to the square, we can not stand aside while. when people fight and die for their rights. Wife quarrels with me, to let go, worried about me, but my civic duty to be where my people, where are my heroes. We will continue our repair an old hut in this time of peril is difficult to allocate funds for the repair and the street, but when the win, everything will fall into place. The main thing is not to lose fight to the end. Transfer greeting to his wife, children and all those Ukrainian America that . . . care about the future of our country, our country.

Ebola Coverage Stays Quiet

With all the stories regarding celebrity deaths and such, it sure is easy to see why its hard for the old media to find some room concerning the West African Ebola epidemic.

Today’s Philadelphia Inquirer did manage to sneak in a few paragraphs on page 4 about how its going to last six more months.

As of yesterday, Aug. 15, the reported toll was 1,145 deaths and  2,127 cases of the disease.

The World Health Organization (WHO) claims the reported toll “vastly underestimate the magnitude of the outbreak.”

The New York Times, to its credit, is taking the matter seriously, as is Matt Drudge.

Other stories of interest not getting much mention is a report that Ukraine has attacked Russian troops — something denied by Russia —  and leaves changing color in Pittsburgh due to record cold temperatures pretty much putting paid to all claims of global warming.

Aeroflot AFL2074 Target Not MH17?

Michael Ledeen — a former consultant to the United States National Security Council, the United States Department of State, and the United States Department of Defense — has written at PJMedia.com that a theory has been seriously broached that the real target of  the pro-Russian Ukrainian rebels who shot down  Malaysian Airlines Flight 17  was  Aeroflot airline AFL2074 that was filled with Russian passengers.

He said the idea was cooked up by Vladimir Putin for use as a pretext for the invasion of the Ukraine.

A Malaysian passenger jet crashed about 7 this morning, July 17, in a section of the Ukraine embroiled in conflict.

It was an American-made Boeing 777 and all 295 on board are dead. There is a very good chance it was shot down and maybe by the Russians.

So where is President Obama?

He is lunching at the Charcoal Pit outside Wilmington, Del. on Route 202 and is even having his people tweet about it.

We’ve eaten at the Charcoal Pit. It wasn’t anything special.

Impeach Obama now.

John Fund Independence Hall Speaker, Ukrainians Honored

Independence Day, 2014, proved to be a terrific anniversary year in two ways–the film America was introduced into the popular culture and, on a smaller, yet not insignificant note, the Independence Hall Foundation held its first July 4th event.

The Independence Hall Foundation offered an alternative ceremony on Independence Mall for those who would prefer to celebrate their July 4th with folks who truly believe in the blessings and greatness of America, and are not bashful about it.

While the official Philadelphia celebration included Vice President Joe Biden, along with Mayor Michael Nutter –and scant reference to, and praise of, our founding Fathers and Mothers–the Foundation’s Endowed by Our Creator July 4th Celebration featured WPHT talk-show hostDom Giordano, John Fund of the Wall Street Journal, and PA State Representative Richard Saccone, whose powerful messages saluted both the Declaration of Independence and the Founders.

The Foundation presented its 2014 Defender of Liberty Award to the Ukrainian People for their struggle against all odds to maintain their independence, just as our founding fathers and mothers did in 1776.

An emotional Natalia Shyrba, a leader of Razom for Ukraine, accepted the award on behalf of her compatriots.

The Foundation supports the right of the Ukrainian people to defend their national integrity and it encourages the US Government and NATO to supply Ukrainian Freedom Fighters with the weapons and other critical supplies they need to defend their nation’s Independence.

Last September, on the eve of the first anniversary of 2012 Benghazi Embassy attack, the Foundation named the four victims–US Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods–as recipients of its 2013 Defender of Liberty Award.
In addition, the Foundation honored JD Mullane with the 2013 Franklin Award for Courageous Journalism; Donald Coughlan, with the 2014 George Washington Leadership Award; and Maria Hyland with the 2014 Betsy Ross Activist of the Year Award.

The Reverend Jesse Woods opened the event with a stirring prayer and Tory McClintock provided a moving rendition of the Declaration of Independence.

Megan Rath was on hand to welcome folks to Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District and Jeff Bell stopped by to discuss matters important to New Jersey and our nation.

As well, the Whitehall Guard Fife and Drum turned in a stellar performance–and Anna Little lit up the room with her inspired singing of The Star Spangled Banner and God Bless America.

The Foundation thanks presenters Brandon Posner, Carol Klein, Cort Rosholt and its terrific volunteers!

On a final note, the Foundation wishes to express its deepest appreciation to a very thoughtful and generous benefactor (who wishes to remain anonymous) for offering crucial financial assistance in the 11th hour of this program.

The unsolicited donation was a remarkable blessing that will never be forgotten!

On this barricade in the Ukraine last January is Father Ighor Fedoryshyn.

The Independence Hall Foundation (IHF) will present its 2014 Defender of Liberty Award to the Ukrainian people–citing their determination to fight for Independence and freedom as their nation comes under siege from an increasingly hostile Russian government led by Vladimir Putin.

The award will be formally presented to Natalie Shyrba, a
representative of Razom for Ukraine, tomorrow, July 4, at the Independence Visitors Center on Independence Mall in Philadelphia.

“We stand shoulder to shoulder with the Ukrainian people as they struggle against all odds to maintain their independence, just as our founding fathers and mothers did in 1776,”  said Foundation organizer, Teri Adams.

It’s  official.

The Ukrainian Greek Catholic parishes of Holy Ghost in Chester and Saints Peter and Paul in Clifton Heights will be merging to Holy Myrrh Bearers with its home at the historic former Leiper Presbyterian Church, 900 Fairview Ave., Ridley Township albeit with a Swarthmore address.

Leiber, which opened in 1819, closed Jan. 8, 2012. Among those who worshiped there were presidents Andrew Jackson, William Henry Harrison and James Buchanan.

It was purchased by the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Archeparchy of Philadelphia in March.

Holy Ghost at 3015 W. 3rd St., and Saints Peter and Paul at 100 S. Penn St., will be closed and sold.

The first service at the new church is scheduled for Sept. 28 with a blessing ceremony the day before.

The Holy Myrrh Bearers, were those involved with the burial of the Lord Jesus and the discovery of the empty tomb on Easter.

UPDATE: the first service is now scheduled for Nov. 2 with the blessing ceremony the preceding day.

Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, is a board member of Burisma Holdings as is Devon Archer, who is a close pal of Secretary of State John Kerry.

Burisma Holdings is Ukraine’s largest private gas producer and is owned by Nikolai Zlochevsky, who was allied the Ukraine’s with Russian-puppet Viktor Yanukovych before the people threw him out in February.

Bet  you haven’t seen this in the Inquirer or on the network news. Wonder how Little Biden feels about fracking in the Ukraine.

This is a letter passed on to us today, Jan. 23, giving a first-hand report of events occurring in the Ukraine as the people of that nation fight for democracy and freedom. The man on the barricade is Father Ighor Fedoryshyn, an activist priest and former military chaplain with wounds from Chechnya.

He’s the perfect illustration it seems of  “a people who will not be slaves again.”

The letter is a version that one might not get from the establishment media.

today 6 Ukrainians has been killed. hundreds got injures and hundreds are arested.

4 of them killed by grapeshot cartridges. police said – we do not use guns. Police really do not use rifled barrel guns now. but they use shot-guns 12 caliber, and shot by plastic bullets. probably somebody of them loaded grapeshot cartridges in to shot-gun and killed people. it is impossible to investigate by ballistics(not rifled barrel).

one was killed probably by police sticks(but police version – he fall down from building when he threw stones in policemens from that building).

two Ukrainians were stolen from hospital. doctors saw that. kidnappers bringed them to some garage, beat them and asked who gave money for demonstration (they really think that USA and EU governments pay money to ukrainians for participation in demonstrations). yesterday one of hostages got free. today dead body of another was found  near Kiev. I think it was Russian KGB. I am sure police will never find his killers.

Unfortunnately tonight will be more victims.

I want you to know and understant. that what you see on tv and internet is not civil war yet. that is fights between right and false, between people and criminals. Unfortunatelly police protect criminals. Our criminal government could avoid violence, but it did not because government do not realise real situation in country, and have very stupid rule – NO STEP BACK, JUST FORWARD. we all know what can happed if somebody push the spring to much – spring will hit him.

It looks like angry criminals beat defenceless, poor policements by rocks and bottle with gas, when americans see tv or internet reports from Ukraine. but USA police and Ukrainian police is opposite things. 85% of such people who work in ukrainian police, stay in jail in USA or EU. police do crimes to protect president, and government do everything to help avoid response for police

Swine Flu Panic In Ukraine

European media sources are reporting a swine flu panic in Ukraine. There have been 33 deaths from flu-like symptoms, 11 of which have been confirmed as swine flu according to Polskie Radio.

Poland is considering closing the border.

The Ukraine Health Ministry is planning to impose quarantine throughout nation according to Kyiv Post.
