Declare Trump Support GOP — Letter To Editor
Dear Editor,
The voters in Delaware County need to know where do all of the local Republican candidates stand with their Presidential nominee, Donald Trump. With all of the publicity coming out of the Trump campaign, the voters and the Press should know if the local Republican politicians support their presidential candidate.
Recently about 100 key national republican leaders from Congress, to Governors, to former Bush national security advisers have withdrew their support of Donald Trump. So I am asking the Press and all of the good Republican voters of Delaware County to demand from your candidates now, whether they will support Trump or not. The voters need to ask Congressman Pat Meehan, all of the state office candidates and even their county, township and borough’s republican elected representatives, if they will support Trump for President in November.
I challenge all of the Republican elected candidates and the current office-holders, whether they are running for office this year or not, to take a stand, be honest with everyone and tell the people of Delaware County if they believe in Donald Trump.

I’m not a fan of Trump but will vote for him because I have no other choice.
Former Governor Tom Ridge is one of the “No-Trumpers.” IMO, Ridge, whose pension policies are a major cause of PA’s current fiscal issues should have the sense to keep his mouth SHUT when he himself created so many problems for PA that we are currently attempting to resolve. His credibility is nil.
Does anyone remember this regarding the background of the pension crisis?… “It all began in 2001. Republican Tom Ridge was governor. Lawmakers voted to boost their pensions by 50%. Gov. Ridge backed the plan also to boost state workers’ and school employees’ pensions by 25% and allow public employees to vest after 5 years of service rather than 10. Teachers and state workers had to increase their contributions. But here’s the kicker: Due to the recession, lawmakers and Governor Ed Rendell in 2003 put off paying for it all by reducing districts’ pension contributions from 5.64% to 1.15% and spread the payments out over ten years creating the bubble that will burst in 2012.” (The full article from which the quote was taken can be read on-line: http://www.witf.org/smart-talk/2010/01/pa-public-pension-crisis.php).
Someone such as Ridge whose lack of foresight and irresponsible fiscal policies have proven to be disastrous for PA over time does not deserve a voice in criticizing the Republican candidate for president.
I challenge all of the registered Democrats to take a stand, be honest with everyone and tell the people of Delaware County if they believe in Hillary Clinton.
Donald wasn’t my 1-16th choice but …..

Donald Trump did not betray Israel.
Donald Trump did not provide financing and technology to Iran’s nuclear weapons program.
Donald Trump did not give our military secrets to China.

I’m going to vote for Trump
Great point, Joanne. Ridge had a Republican legislature too.
The Pats inserted themselves into the special election for the 161st one year ago this month. I would be curious to see if Mr Meehan and Mr Toomey will go to bat for Donald J Trump. If they do not it proves exactly the point why Donald J Trump is so popular, We the People are fed up with the so called elite, ruling class.
I for one, will be voting Trump/Pence this November. Should Hillary Rodham Clinton be rewarded with the office of the presidency, after her non stop decades of shenanigans, will have a detrimental effect on the rule of law that has already suffered greatly the past eight years.
If Hillary is elected to the highest office in the world., look for her to name Anthony Wiener as her chief of staff! Staff get it?
The Pats are the reason why Trump is the nominee. Neither stood up to fight Obama’s agenda. Pat Meehan voted to repeal Obamacare umpteen times–and then voted to fund it. They were show votes only because the ultimate rejection would have been refusing to vote for any spending bill that funded Obamacare. He was not alone. He was joined by a GOP delegation that was content to let the most radical left wing ideologue in our history abuse power and refuse to exercise their duty under the Constitution to put the brakes on him. Both Pats have stuck with safe, benign and worthless issues publicly and done nothing to stop the runaway spending, the corruption, and the overall mess that is Washington, DC. And yes they both supported a liberal union democrat disguised by an “R” behind his name for a state legislative position. My guess is that neither will come out publicly for Trump. Hope I’m proven wrong.
