Liz Piazza Seeks Pa 165th Seat — Liz Piazza, the Republican seeking to unseat Democrat incumbent Jen O’Mara in the 165th District Pennsylvania House, was introduced, last night, Jan. 25, at the monthly meeting of the Springfield Republican Party.

She is a grandmother and small businesswoman who has had a long-stint in Delaware County government.

She will be a big improvement.

Especially concerning legislation relating to crime and safety, which gets us to the next item.

Township Commissioner Jeff Rudolph says Springfield has been experiencing an inordinate amount of car break-ins. The perpetrators are being arrested and they are found to be residents of New York and northern New Jersey.

Rudolph said they are illegal immigrants who have been recruited by a criminal organization.

He says the operation has one person going through unlocked cars and leaving valuables at the curb to be picked up by a partner.

He says locking the car doors at night is a strong deterrant.

GOP Chairman Mike Puppio said the almost 70-year-old township building on Powell Road will soon be renovated. He said there is no need to replace the functional building although the police department is expected to get an expansion.
