Noted Correspondent ‘Cuffed By Seattle Gestapo Wannabees
Michael Yon, probably the respected, most accurate war correspondent on the planet, was handcuffed at the Seattle airport for refusing to tell some border cops how much money he made.
“When they handcuffed me, I said that no country has ever treated me sobadly,” Yon said. “Not China. Not Vietnam. Not Afghanistan. Definitely notSingapore or India or Nepal or Germany, not Brunei, not Indonesia, orMalaysia, or Kuwait or Qatar or United Arab Emirates. No county hastreated me with the disrespect can that can be expected from our borderbullies.”

PSU Profs Tempted Concerning AGW Fraud
An email has been sent to the 27 members of Penn State University’s Earth System Science Center informing them that they stand to reap a sweet reward for providing information to federal authorities regarding anyone they know who may have been fraudulently misusing federal grant funds for climate research.
The whistleblower stands to get $15 million — 30 percent of the $50 million in misused grants.
The center’s director is Michael Mann who is at the heart of the scandal in which leading researchers were found to have destroyed data, publicized conclusions knowingly disregarding facts and marginalized critics using unsavory means to convince the world man-made emissions were causing the world to catastrophically warm.
The email:
Hi,
Greetings and best wishes for a prosperous New Year.

After the recent whistleblower revelations of emails between climate
researchers and data from the University of East Angliaās Climate
Research Unit, there are on-going investigations into potential
fraudulent use of grant funds in Climate Research in the US.Ā I am
assisting interested parties who may have details of fraud in climate
research to make contact with the proper authorities, and to share in
the rewards paid when the funds are recovered.Whistleblower Rewards Program
The federal government has established vigorous programs to identify
and prosecute fraudulent grant applications and administration.Ā The US
Department of Justice (DOJ) administers the False Claims Act.Ā It
allows rewards for those who come forward with details of grant fraud
to share in the recovery of federal funds.Ā This reward can be as much
as 30% of the total amount reclaimed.Ā The program is almost completely
reliant on insiders to report their knowledge of the fraud in their
institutions.Attorney Literally āWrote the Bookā on Fraud Recovery Lawsuits
Joel Hesch, Esq., of Hesch and Associates, literally wrote the book on
how to report federal fraud.Ā He has an extensive background in
representing whistleblowers in all types of federal funding fraud
cases, including Educational/ Research Grant Fraud.Ā According to Mr
Hesch: āMany institutions receive grants, whether for research or
educational purposes. When they lie to get the grant or keep the grant
or if they use the funds for purposes outside the grant, they are
liable under the DOJ program. There have been many grant cases brought
by whistleblowers. āIf you know of anyone who might have details about fraudulent
statements or actions by recipients of federal grant funds for climate
research, please have them contact me immediately at the below email or
cell phone.Ā Alternatively, they may also contact Mr Hersch directly,
and let him know that they were referred by me.Ā All communications are
completely confidential.Ā They may want to consider using a third party
email service (Yahoo, Hotmail, or other) instead of work email to
communicate.30% of $50 million is more than $12 million.Ā Ask your friends to do the right thing, and be rewarded for doing it.
Our country, and in fact, the entire world is counting on someone to
stand up and tell the truth about climate research. The effects of
moving forward with taxes and policies based on fraudulent science
could potentially cripple the US economy and cost lives and jobs for
generations.Look forward to hearing from you.
All the best

Arlen’s Got The Money, I Got The Times
With the closing of embassies in the Middle East, with the airline security system apparently dependent on ad hoc Dutch militia action, and with the unemployment rate at over 10 percent, today’s Delaware County Daily Times devoted a half-page to how Congressman Joe “Arlen’s Got The Money Honey But I Got The Times” Sestak intends to introduce a bill to improve food-recall notices for schools.
Really.
And it’s not as though he’s even introduced the bill. He just said that he intends to.
And newspapers wonder why readers have left.
Hey Joe, think big next time. Tell the Times you intend to introduce a bill to give everyone in Pa. 7 a flying horse to commute to work. They’ll not only print it they’ll praise you for it in an editorial.
New York Sought WTC Back Taxes
New York Sought WTC Back Taxes — An attempt by New York City to try to get $34.8 million in back property taxes for the Twin Towers and two nearby buildings was slapped down, Dec. 9,Ā by Administrative Law Judge Marlene F. Scwhatz of the city’s Tax Appeals Tribunal.
The city claimed the property was subject to 3.9 percent commercial rent tax through 2005, when the state legislature ended the tax for all properties below Canal Street, and that despite the destruction of the buildings by terrorist on Sept. 11, 2001,Ā “the airspace that had been surrounded by the buildings still existed.”
Property owner Larry Silverstein pointed out that the government seized control of the entire site in 2001.

Inky Finally Reports On The Crisis In Obstetrics
The Philadelphia Inquirer, this morning, got around to reporting about the health care crisis facing expectant mothers and their babies.
“Fifteen hospitals in the eight-county Philadelphia region have closed their labor and delivery units since 1999, including two last year,” the Inky noted.
In the last paragraph, the Inquirer finally gets around to explaining the cause via Ken Braithwaite, regional executive of the Delaware Valley Healthcare Council of the Hospital and Healthsystem
Association of Pennsylvania, which represents area hospitals.
“Hospitals are being squeezed by low insurance payments, especially from Medicaid; the high cost of medical liability insurance; and a shortage of obstetricians,” saidĀ Braithwaite.
Ten years ago the doctors were screaming about these issues especially regarding the need for tort reform regarding medical liability.
The Inquirer dismissed these concerns with stories that could have been written by the trial lawyers.
If they did a proper job of journalism the problems would be much less today.

Pope Benedict Addresses Ecology
Pope Benedict Addresses Ecology — Pope Benedict XVI in his homily for the liturgical feast of Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God — which coincidentally occurs on New Year’s Day — commanded the faithful to be environmentally responsible.
And,of course, he’s right.
So the next time some green-wearing Chicken Little throws this at you in an attempt to lead you to the power-hungry statist den of a government Foxy Loxy tell him that you hate pollution and love the environment more that he and that we must;
–Stop tearing down hydro-electric dams and start replacing coal plants with nukes.
–End Davis-Bacon so we can maximize the use of time and resources to replace traffic bottle-necks.
–Get rid of toll roads.
–Indemnify businesses for accidents that occur in the homes of telecommuters.
–Drill for oil in Alaska so we don’t have to drill in areasĀ under the control of nations not inclined to hear the Pope.
