Marple Battle Continues To Rage With PECO

Marple Battle Continues To Rage With PECO

By Bob Small

Marple residents have been battling PECO since November 2020 concerning the power company’s plans to build a natural gas “reliability station” in the township.  There’s been a number of twists and turns. The Marple Safety Coalition (MSC) is the group leading the opposition.

If the anti-PECO signage seen as one drives through Marple is any indication, the MSC has a great deal of support.

WHYY has extensive  coverage of this dispute.

“What’s happening now in this community is beautiful. People are really stepping up.  All of our local and regional elected officials are supporting us,” said Julie Baker of MSC.

This includes Democrat State Representative Jennifer O’Mara and State Senator Tim Kearney.

PECO hasn’t helped itself by refusing to answer expected and reasonable questions.

“It’s against PECO’s policy, and industry standards, for utilities to share the locations of their facilities,” said the company.

For the record, the facility will be a Sproul and Cedar Grove roads.

PECO is part of Exelon Corp. and not, as many think, a public utility.

And thus, not held to the standards of a public utility.

Exelon is the nation’s largest energy delivery company.

In March of 2022, the Pennsylvania Utilities Commission in March 2022 gave PECO a special exemption to the neighborhood zoning code,

“(This) reinforces a precedent that energy companies can basically do as  they please, anywhere they want, because they have the upper hand in telling the PUC what they think is reasonable and in the interests of the public,” says Greg Fat of MSC.

The MSC says the proposed gas expansion plant is not related to natural gas production but to increase in residential gas consumption,”

Only Texas produces more natural gas than Pennsylvania though this may change soon.

Meanwhile Nether Providence and Swarthmore are battling PECO to save some historic trees.

That’s only 3 of the entities in Delaware County that have current disputes with PECO.

Are there more to come?

Heightened Risks at Border And Interior

Heightened Risks at Border And Interior

By Joe Guzzardi

The calamitous consequences of President Biden’s open borders and his hastily concocted Operation Allies Welcome (OAW) for Afghan resettlement are increasingly visible and will likely become graver as time passes. Stories about drugs, human trafficking and migrant border deaths have been told and retold so many times that, sad to say, they’ve lost their shock effect.

This week two reports, one from the border, and the other from the heartland, should jolt Americans back into reality. Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) drone operators in Eagle Pass spotted an armed smuggler carrying a long gun, wearing body armor and guiding a group of illegal immigrants across the Rio Grande. Photographs of the suspected cartel members have been posted online. In a similar incident in June, five suspected members of the Cartel del Noreste were arrested in the same area after illegally crossing the border armed with rifles and tactical gear.

There’s nothing from the White House except, in anticipation of another surge, the Department of Homeland Security calling for more volunteers from within the agency to sign up with Customs and Border Protection to help process migrants – translation: to assist in releasing aliens into the general population. Cartels and transnational criminal organizations have reaped billions of dollars in profits. Hands down, they are the biggest winners under bad Biden policies, implemented by Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas.

From the interior, heartbreaking news came from St. Louis, a city that encouraged and welcomed refugee resettlement. In 2021, St. Louis became home to a record number of refugees and asylum seekers, including more than 500 people from Afghanistan. One of the Afghan OAW refugees may have been Osmani Haji Gul, the 34-year-old accused of sexually assaulting a six-year-old on July 23. Gul is currently in protective custody in St. Louis’ City Justice Center, being detained under a “Hold SK ICE” status which means he is not a permanent resident or a U.S. citizen. Investigators tied Gul to another sex crime against a 12-year-old on July 16.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said Gul, seen in neighborhood surveillance footage, grabbed the 6-year-old while the child was riding a bike and took him to a vacant residence in the St. Louis Hills neighborhood on July 23. Then, police said, Gul sodomized the child. Charges against Gul include first-degree statutory sodomy and sexual misconduct involving a child, as well as charges of first-degree attempted statutory sodomy and fourth-degree assault.

Gul’s immigration background has been withheld from the public – the standard operating procedure when crimes that will cast a bad light on the nation’s welcome-the-world policy unfold. Despite repeated efforts, the reporting team at St. Louis News 4 Investigates has been unsuccessful in learning more about Gul’s background, including the vital facts about when and how he arrived in the U.S. Perhaps Gul was one of the 132,000 Afghans residing in the U.S. before OAW, or perhaps he was part of that misguided mission.

Javad Khazaeli, Gul’s lawyer, a former U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement prosecutor, said that the federal government and the police know the child predator’s history, but will not release it. The lawyer then reverted to the often-told lie that refugees undergo a vigorous vetting process.

On February 15, the Department of Defense Inspector General’s Office (IG) laid out the truth when issuing its “Evaluation of the Screening of Displaced Persons from Afghanistan.” The IG’s detailed account was a damning assessment of the Biden administration’s failures to screen, vet and transport tens of thousands of Afghan nationals to the U.S. following the botched U.S. withdrawal from that country. Eventually, reports surfaced that “none of the 82,000 individuals flown from Afghanistan to the United States were properly vetted.”

Gul’s story is unfolding, and the specifics may or may not eventually become public. But more of the same unashamed disregard for public safety is guaranteed as long as Biden and Mayorkas keep their jobs, a virtual certainty given the GOP’s failure to put up meaningful resistance to the immigration status quo.

Tucker Interview With Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund

Tucker Interview With Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund — Tucker Carlson X-posted a new interview with former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund regarding the Jan. 6 riot.

His first interview with the Chief was scheduled to air on Fox News, April 24, the day he was fired from the network.

He couldn’t air it because Fox owns the video.

So he and Sund did a new one.

It will change minds about what happened and who should get the blame.

Hint: It’s not President Trump.

The video might also awaken minds as to how corrupt and politicized our system of justice has become.

At the very end, Sund notes that all charges were dropped from the attack on the White House in the summer of 2020 despite numerous injuries to Secret Service personnel and other law enforcement, and much property damage.

Here’s the interview:

Election Fraud Revealed In Chester County?

Election Fraud Revealed In Chester County? — ChescoUnited discussed , Aug. 10, a canvass of 144 of the 3,115 who voted in 2022 in Chester County, Pa. despite being recorded as having had a change of address.

About 70 percent in the canvass appeared to have moved away for good.

A change of address doesn’t necessarily mean an illegitimate vote. A student returning from college or someone who divides his time between two homes could be in the address change database and still legally vote in Chesco.

The canvassers said, however, they could only ascertain that for about 30 percent.

Which means 70 percent very well may be illegitimate voters.

This is a pretty strong indication of fraud.

Considering the willingness of people to hack an ID for a few thousand dollars why would anyone even question the possibility that some might conspire to steal a government with access to a billion or trillion dollars?

Also revealed was that 40 percent of the world still does not have access to electricity or gas for cooking, and relies on biomass which would be things like wood, charcoal, crop waste and dung.

These are far more polluting that electricity and gas.

Did you know that a natural gas energy plant takes up only a twentieth the land as one that uses solar power?

Chesco Sheriff Morale Issues Mean Rent-A-Cops At Courthouse

Chesco Sheriff Morale Issues Mean Rent-A-Cops At Courthouse — County sheriffs are typically tasked in Pennsylvania to provide courthouse protection but Chester County judges find themselves resorting to private security.

The Chesco Sheriff Department under Fredda Maddox is short 40 deputies. The problems started soon after the Democrat won election in 2019 — replacing Bunny Welsh who declined to seek re-election — and are attributed to bad morale.

Ms. Maddox is not seeking to keep the post this November, however, but is running for county judge.

Chesco Sheriff Morale Issues Mean Rent-A-Cops At Courthouse
Fredda Maddox

She has hand-picked Kevin Dykes to be her successor.

Running against Dykes is Republican Roy Kofroth.

Former Deputy Matt Mendenhall posted the below on social media.

To all my friends, family and acquaintances in Chester County PA.

Please vote for Roy Kofroth for Sheriff.

From April of 2017 until June of 2020, I was a proud Chester County deputy sheriff working respectfully under Sheriff Carolyn “Bunny” Welsh.

During that time (September of 2017) I became involved with her K-9 unit and ultimately became a handler working an EDC named “Nero”. Nero and I proved to be an excellent team and provided solid service to all of the citizens of Chester county on a daily basis.

I was promoted to the rank of Corporal of K9 and worked beside some of the best law-enforcement officers anyone would hope to be beside during the worst and best of times.

In December 2019 Sheriff Welsh decided not to run for the position she held honorably for 20+ years and with the utmost integrity and professionalism. Her deputies respected her, she supported all of us and went to war right beside us everyday as a true leader does and anyone working in that office at that time would wholeheartedly agree.

As with any job, there were always a few hiccups here and there, but nothing that we were unable to get through as a team.

Sheriff Welsh retired with the respect of the office and handed the reins over to Sheriff elect Fredda Maddox who appointed Kevin Dykes as her Chief Deputy.

Between January and March of 2020, things declined rapidly under the leadership of Maddox and Dykes, morale was awful and deputies were leaving at an alarming rate to work at other police departments, some even taking a pay cut or choosing p/t to do so.

When they realized where my loyalty fell, they both rather quickly made it a priority to completely destroy my reputation and character, not only as a corporal but also as a friend to other deputies and an award-winning K9 handler with numerous achievements under Sheriff Welsh.

Nero was taken away from me by Dykes and Maddox, there were warnings or no reasons provided to me. They both presented lies to other deputies and command staff about me not wanting him anymore and that I was no longer interested in the unit. This was an absolute distasteful lie that Maddox and Dyke’s presented to my closest co-workers. I sent numerous emails to the sheriff and the chief pleading with them to allow me to keep my position with K9 and to not take Nero away from me. I have several email copies to prove this. I had a one on one meeting with Sheriff Maddox and was still denied the request to remain with my k9 partner.

Matt Mendenhall and Nero

Nero was taken away from me for no reason, whisked away by another Corporal who was also unfortunately lied to and who turned against me. To this day they have never told me where Nero went, who he’s with or what he’s doing and that is what hurts the most.

My family was and is STILL devastated.

As if that wasn’t hurtful enough, I was then falsely accused of starting arguments, making threats and insulting the current Sergeant even though it was quite the opposite, I was relieved of my Corporal duties for reasons unbeknownst to anyone besides them. I was sent to the government service center (GSC) away from everybody to wand people at the entrance before finally resigning in June of 2020 in order to save my career and integrity before becoming completely smeared by Maddox, Dykes and the Sergeant.

To say this was a blow to my 20 year LEO career is an understatement, never during my entire time as a police officer was I ever treated so terribly and embarrassed to wear the uniform. I was unethically written up by incompetent, inexperienced lieutenants (Unrelated to K9) who were too afraid to do the right thing. And for the record to all, Sheriff Welsh also went through the same type of smear campaign run by those who became greedy with power, lies and falsehoods.

So if you’ve made it this far into my post, thank you for sticking with me, I ask all of you please, as someone who has worked directly under Kevin Dykes, I plead with you to not vote for him as Sheriff, whether you’re a Democrat, an Independent or a Republican, PLEASE do not cast your vote for this unethical man

Ask some of the deputies personally if you second-guess anything I’ve stated, there is a reason he was not kept and retained in his former position with the DAs office.

Vote for Roy Kofroth, I know him well, he has great intentions, knows the job and is a man of integrity. He stood beside me during one of the absolute worst times in my career and has the respect of everyone in the office to which Dykes cannot say, again, vote Roy Kofroth for Sheriff and share this with your family and friends, thank you.

Obviously, Mr. Mendenhall comments are personal and subjective, and one can reasonably either accept or reject them.

On the other hand, the Sheriff Department is down 40 deputies and the Courthouse is using private security.

Some more things to consider:

  • For what is Ms. Maddox using the money in the budget for those missing 40 deputies?
  • How much extra is the private security costing the Chesco taxpayer?

If Chester County residents don’t awake from wokeness, the quality of living there is going to drop to the point where one’s former lifestyle will be but a sweet memory.
