Delco Council Virtue Signals On Spooky Ghostly Guns. Boo — A first reading of an ordinance to ban the unlicensed manufacture and modifications of firearms was made by Delaware County (Pa) Council, March 19.
Especially noted was the use of 3-D printers to make guns.
This is virtue signalling by stupid people looking for an excuse to ignore problems.
How many of these printed guns have been used in crime in Delco? Anywhere?
In 1960, there were more than three times as many people incarcerated in mental facilities as penal institutions. Forty years later it was six times as many in prisons. Were are confident it is much higher now.
That is maybe the biggest reason for the explosion of irrational random shootings. That and cultural changes such as excusing killing for convenience and the inability to teach the reality of a God who commands us to love our neighbor.
What County Council did was virtue signalling. It’s meaningless to public safety. It did, however, manage to create an annoyance for hobbyists and tinkerers who are among the most law-abiding of citizens.
What is also an annoyance are those who seek political careers in the freedom coalition but mouth support for this pandering garbage.
Expect this to become law next month.

Pennsylvania GOP Loses Safe Seat; Wake Up Delco — The Pennsylvania GOP, yesterday, March 26, lost a state senate seat it had held since 1978.
Democrat James Malone beat Republican Josh Parsons in the 36th District in Lancaster County by 482 votes which was a margin of less than 1 percent.
Trump won the district by 17 points.
Parson was a Lancaster County commissioner.
The seat had been held by Ryan Aument who resigned to become become the state director for Dave McCormick who just won a seat to the US Senate.
We have written about Aument.
It’s like we saw it coming.
Pennsylvania Republican leaders better wake up.
Same old, same old is not going to work.
The wake up better start in Delaware County, where the GOP is about to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
It orchestrated the removal of a fellow — who let us note we did not and do not plan to back — who had indisputable widespread support.
The removal was done in the hackish fashion that we have long despised.
This BS, by the way, can no longer be hidden.
And the people sure as sugar don’t like it.
The stupidity was compounded by a crowing statement dissing the fellow’s supporters followed by a mocking meme.
We’ll further note that we like Delco’s GOP leadership. We think Chairman Frank Agovino, Dave Galluch, Michael Straw and Rob Jordan are decent guys despite the attacks on them. We are convinced that they are honest and mean well.
The buck stops with the leadership, though, which means the division is the leadership’s fault.
We encourage Delco’s Republican leaders to reach out quickly to the other side. Start with Leah Hoopes and Greg Stenstrom.
Leah and Greg have legitimate grievances with the Delco GOP. They were abandoned when they spoke out in 2020 after the presidential election which caused them tremendous personal suffering.
We also suspect they will mistrust any peace offering. We are convinced, however, they will listen to reason as their goals are sincere and anything but mercenary.
The GOP bosses don’t have to concede every one of their points, either. They must, however, concede that they have points.
Really, Frank, when the Dems tried to change the law to pack the Election Board, don’t ya kinda think it was maybe even just a little red flag?
And why haven’t you made an issue of the Democrat-controlled council’s unwillingness to accept rulings by the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records to release certain election records?
Making that an issue would flip the “election denier” argument right back on them.
Why aren’t they trying to stop the widespread skepticism, after all?
This is a winnable election.
Even registered Democrats want easy access to hospitals, which is looking to be no longer the case in Delco.
Nobody wants 24 percent tax hikes to fund incompetence, corruption and stupidity.
We are writing in Sharon Devaney for County Council, May 20, then voting for the GOP ticket in November.
We aren’t confident that it’s going to do much good.
The one thing that gives us hope is Meaghan Wagner who is running for Register of Wills against Vinnie Rongione.
She seems to know how to fight.
Maybe she’ll carry the rest of them.
