Latitude 86.71 Longitude 61.29 is where one is closest to the center of the Earth. It’s in the Arctic Ocean. Where one is farthest from the center is on Mount Huascaran in Peru — not Mount The Earth is not a perfect sphere.
Tomorrow, May 19, is Primary Election Day for 2015 which will determine who will be the party nominees for the general election on Nov. 3 for the judicial and municipal offices which include school boards and county offices.
It’s a low turnout race so one’s vote is very important.
We are generally going to go with the Republican Party recommendations albeit we are going to pick state Montour County District Attorney Rebecca Warren, for state Supreme Court in lieu of one of the endorsed candidates who are Adams County Common Pleas Court Judge Mike George, Commonwealth Court Judge Anne Covey of Bucks County, and Superior Court candidate Judy Olson of Pittsburgh. All are good choices, however, as is Superior Court Judge Cheryl Allen of Pittsburgh. Judge Allen is black, for those whose priority is diversity.
We encourage all Penn Delco residents to vote for Lisa Esler for school board and that all Montgomery County residents hit the button for Joe Gale for Montgomery County Commissioner. Fresh blood is definitely needed in that once Republican stronghold.

Leonardo da Vinci was dyslexic.
Here’s a fact the progressives who control the establishment voices and who seek to keep the country in permanent division try to keep hidden: The poverty rate for black and white children is exactly the same at 8 percent IF the children are in a married couple family.
For white children in single-mother families it is 33 percent. For black children in single-mother families it is 49 percent.
It should be further noted that 54 percent of white children are in married couple families compared to just 17 percent of black children.
Solving the nation’s poverty and crime problem is not as complicated as some would have us believe.

No Anthony, “crap” does not come from Thomas Crapper, who popularized the flush toilet in the Victorian era. It likely comes from the Middle English word crappe which means “grain trodden underfoot in a barn”, which can be traced to the Latin word “crappa.” “John”, however, as in “going to the John” comes from Sir John Harrington, who invented the flush toilet in the 16th century.

Electrons in a lamp cord move at about 1.2 inches per minute. The electromagnetic wave they create, however, travels at the speed of light.
Some are concerned that women will flock to Hillary Clinton if she is the Democrat nominee in 2016 out of gender loyalty.
We are not among them. We don’t believe they are that dumb. They are, however, more inclined to trust media outlets that men have long since discounted and these outlets are nothing more than shills for those who want money transferred from middle class taxpayers — or foreign interests — to themselves.
The Clinton’s are perfect examples of this, by the way.
So, the Republicans are going to have address the lies spread by these outlets along with revealing the facts they try to cover up.
The Republicans cannot be afraid of being called sexist, as they were afraid of being called racist when they failed to address Barack Obama’s shortcomings in their campaigns against him.
There are signs of hope this is being done, if not by the GOP establishment at least by intelligent people with a sense of humor.
OK, definitely not by the GOP establishment
This YouTube video brilliantly illustrates Mrs. Clinton’s hypocrisy — she pays her women staffers far less than her male ones — and shows what happens when her supporters find out.
Citizens Alliance of Pennsylvania has a pretty good explanation of SB1, the pension reform bill passed, yesterday, May 13, by the Pennsylvania Senate.
CAP notes the bill calls for new state workers and public school teachers to enroll in a defined contribution type plan similar to the 401Ks most of us have. They also have an option to enroll in a cash balance plan which are like savings accounts with a interest rate equal to a 30-year US Treasury Bond with a cap at 4 percent.
New employees would not be eligible for the existing defined benefit plan.
Existing employees would be prevented from spiking their average salary during their final years to hike their pension by maxing out on overtime. It would also change how future benefits are calculated for employees in the current system and require increased employee contributions.
It is estimated that the reforms would save the taxpayers $1.7 billion over the next four years and a total savings of $18 billion.
The bill is now before the House.
Kudos but why wasn’t this done four years ago when the GOP ran everything? Expect our Democrat governor, Tom Wolf, to do what he can to gut it as the unions basically own him.
And, really, the morality of someone making a $477,591 public pension must be addressed before asking the working class and those down on the luck to bail out the system.
Hat tip Lisa Esler.
